I heard the most ungodly screeching, crying sound on my back deck. When I went to look it was one of these birds going nuts in the bushes. I noticed it was attacking a large gopher snake going after the bird's nest. I grabbed the snake and the bird flew in to "help" me. It's like it knew I was saving its nest. As I pulled the snake from the bushes, the bird pecked and squawked at the snake. Unfortunately the snake had a baby bird in its mouth. The bird stayed by my side as I carried the snake a distance from the house and stuffed it down a prairie dog hole. That brought me to this video to find out what kind of bird it was.
