John Barth, former president of the North Jersey Chapter NRHS, takes a look at standard-gauge logging railroads that connected with the New York Central in the Adirondacks. Included are the Newton Falls & Northern RR, Cranberry Lake RR, Grasse River RR, Brooklyn Cooperage, and the Oval Wood Dish company's railroad. A variety of Climax, Shay, and Heisler steam logging locomotives are shown as well as Barnhart steam-driven log loaders.
