First I cut down a big ash tree , then we pull the logs in with the Wallenstein skidding winch, then drag them back to the shelter with the FORD to be processed

Glad to see you use the open face notch and bore behind the hinge so the tree won't barber chair. A couple of suggestions, first make your back cut just about even with the bottom of the notch. Then bore from both sides so you can see the hinge and won't cut it off. Make sure you wrap your thumb around the front handle so if the saw kicks back you won't lose your grip. Really concentrate on what your doing (analyzing your mistakes is good) and work safely. I've been logging for 40 years and I constantly review what I am doing as I cut trees.

We used a 5610 4x4 in the woods and it was near unstoppable. She would drag a good cord of long length from the stump and way more out on the road.

I like the comment" what I screwed up with this cut was" LOL. Anyways if you need to use the hinge to help direct the fall even an old fart like me knows to cut from the outside towards the kerf . Now there are a lot of smarter tree fellers than me if you need more learning how to use the hinge. We were all young once bud, keep up the vids man

I've done a lot of logging in a lot of skidding with tractors Ford's hydraulic power is better than any other tractor I've ever operated and I've driven them all that's where it'll take that long without a problem

The first log is binding which is causing some terrible stress on the gear.

They made an 'R" and series II. Avoid the R, unless a good deal and use parts. The injection pump has its own oil. Keep it checked. There is a screw plug in an oil gallery near inj pump. Run a oil hose (we use grease gun hose) to the drain on inj pump. Then come out of oil level plug on pump and run a hose Teed into side of engine fill tube. That way, oil level in injector pump is always correct. We have a couple from late eighties. Cut hay, bale hay, log with hydraulic grapple. Never been to shop. Only thing I don't like is low reverse too slow, high reverse too fast. Make sure thermo start is operating. Put some plug in water heaters in freeze plug holes. They don't like cold starts. I've seen some circulate hot water from pickup truck and have hosed to diesel engines to warm them for cold starts. When you arrive on a cold job and have to start loader, skidder, tree cutter, tractor, it makes a difference.
