the skits follow a theme, which is all spans a day leading up to his first show, which is what the concept of this album is. i think a lot of skits flew under the radar, like the skit before Gaithersburg Freestyle was Castro telling them to throw in a beat tape to rap over which transitioned into Gaithersburg Freestyle. Same with Highlife, the skit before talks about the crew trying to peer pressure Logic into smoking, and then Highlife comes on. I agree that the skits will be skipped everytime, but it’s an undervalued part of the album, that ties it together conceptually, more then you think. I think it’s originally done as well.
@davidalexander6532
@davidalexander6532 Жыл бұрын
@Jake Murphy exactly. it all fits together to make, what seemed to me, a cohesive album concept. i think because of the stigma around Logic, people look to nitpick, rather then enjoy, which felt like the case here

@@Artourito669 well as far as his reaction i’m the video seemed, it didn’t look like he comprehended the value of the skits. i agree they should’ve been separate songs, it makes them harder to listen to singularly but adds to the completeness and cohesion of the album as a i stem

I think the main issue is that the skits are unfunny, go on way too long and the acting isn't great especially from Castro where it paints him as really unlikeable where he's calling Lenbo fat all the time and the humour in the skits are quite jarring with the more serious tone of the songs

I love the skits. It's all part of his vision and the cinematic aspect to the album. It ties together the songs in a way that makes them all more important than filler on play lists. Paradise II does have a single version without the skit though. I don't mind just hitting next though to preserve the artistic vision.

This album to me feels like the natural continuation of this era of Logic. "No Pressure" means both that he is no longer tied to the industry, but also, that he no longer tries hard to make heady, nerdy, concept driven albums. He just wants to feel good. Also, I like the skits, I'm weird.

I was not aware that Seth could sing before this album (DON'T KILL ME I JUST DIDN'T KNOW) but when I heard him I legit thought it was Sinatra. Like his voice & the instrumental made me feel like I got transported to the classic period (40s, 50s & 60s) an era that has an aesthetic and other qualities that I enjoy. Overall though it's a pretty good album with tracks I'll return to. For some reason I sense that this is the 2nd album of a trilogy but I'm 95% sure I'm wrong.

Me personally, I love the production on the album. I think Vinyl Days is the best album for defining Hip Hop while College Park is the best album for defining who Logic is as it's all a culmination of, what I believe to be, his best traits. The skits are definitely subjective and I wish he put the skits on separate tracks as he's done that before on TITS and Everybody. All in all, I loved this album even with some of the forced skits, can't wait to see what he does next. Edit: Me personally, I like when Logic sings and plays guitar, he has a surprisingly decent voice. But I can see why others would dislike it

He is only over hated because as a fan I can admit he does a lot of things that do not Place him in a position to be favorable by the majority of people. He is is an amazing rapper but have you heard Confessions of a dangerous mind? Bobby Tarantino 3? These are prime examples of why logic catches hate from people who are not his fans, I can appreciate aspects of these albums but I as a fan cannot disagree with fans who have displeasure towards logic after creating those atrocious albums we just want him to be like he was in his young Sinatra face every time he goes back to that era of wrapping it is his most successful albums he is selling himself short as a professional artist with a genius concept. By making these albums that he feels is Artistic and different unfortunately it just makes him more susceptible too mainstream hate

@jjkulon94
@jjkulon94 Жыл бұрын
@@solrac4598 Okay. I don’t understand how you’re not getting this so I’m going to break it down. The album is called College Park. With the making of this album, it seemed like they thought of the concept first and then the music came after. The concept of the album is Logic and his friends going on a little road trip on a way to a show in 2011. The whole concept of the album is the fact that Logic isn’t a big artist yet. to show this, Logic and his friends are doing normal shit like going through a drive through and going to the gas station to get snacks. (The gas station ends up getting robbed which is another tie in to show that they don’t live in the suburbs. They live in a shitty poverty raised part of town at the time). Now don’t you think it would be a little weird if in the first song they were saying they “had a show tonight” and then there’s no skits or anything that brings it back up until the second last song? That would be a badly executed concept. Instead, Logic uses skits to take the listener on a journey and make them feel like they’re part of the journey to the concert. It’s just him and his friends chilling around College Park. The skits are literally the reason the album is called College Park. That’s why the skits are important to the album. They’re literally the reason the album exists.

Hardly talked about Repill, hardly included any Village Slum, and talked over Lightyear… wow. Think your opinion of the skits bled over to your thoughts on the music

Thought the album was okay off first listen, but it got much better off more listens. Do agree that the skits being at the end of songs is quite annoying, rather them be separate. Still don’t think the album holds a torch to tits, up or np; but its still decent.

Yeah at first I didn't mind the skits, but after a few more listens I truly don't like a lot of them, and I think it has to do with the pretty bad acting and just generally childish vibe in almost all of them. They sound too forced, especially his buddy Castro. Ironically though, Castro sounds great when he's actually featured on the tracks.

Yeah Castro was... ugh, "cringe" but the only skits I enjoyed was the one after Self Meditation, the one after the coordinates track and the skit that happens during Lightyear
