Difficult to say how long I have been watching. Earliest watch history was 3 July. Let’s all meet up in the year 3000. Won’t it be strange when we’re all fully grown..?

wonky is a great word. If you can work "transmogrify" in a sentence then you really have something

You've planted a seed there, Michael. Actually, I think I might have used that word... if not, leave it with me!

Ive used the groove track with some good success. Not a miracle worker but useful.

Absolutely - it's certainly capable of some very useful things.

That was great as always. Possibly silly question. Could you reverse the process and have a vocal audio track follow a project on Logic? Also after some advice on a good AI vocal separator I’ve tried a few but majority seem out of time to the supposed BPM. Any help appreciated 😊
@jonobuchananmusicКүн бұрын
Absolutely, in theory, any track can be a Groove Track. But as vocal parts tend to feature lots of gaps and fewer transients, I’m not sure how effective a vocal track would be as a Groove Track. Logic’s own Stem Splitter is pretty effective at separating vocals from other parts in stereo files. I’ve made a video about it (you’ll need Logic 11), so have a go and let me know if it works for your needs.

Always enjoy your methodical videos , my go to for deeper learning of Logic. Question: is the Groove template and a Session Players "Follow Track" function doing the same or similar thing?
@jonobuchananmusic3 күн бұрын
Thank you so much. Essentially, yes, it's the same principle, but with slightly less complicated processing. The similarity is that processing is allocated to detect and follow the 'rhythm' or 'groove' (usually the detected transients) and to allocate the same position (bars, beats, sub-divisions) to the data on any track which is following that detection. The Groove Track (and Groove Templates) can be assigned to audio files, which requires more processing (often at the cost of some audio fidelity), whereas that analysed data being applied to the Session Players effectively equates to a 'MIDI message move', which is less processor-intensive and comes at no cost to audio quality.
