What a nice presentation that where the instruction is not all over the place , Which allows me to focus on one task or track at a time . But what I would like to know , Is combining video with my recordings .

I’m not sure I understand your question. Do you mean adding a video track to logic? Like scoring to picture? Or exporting the audio from logic and syncing it to video in another program?

Hey Wilson.. Any further explanation/ insights on why I'd create a D.I. track as well as the Effected ( Helix/ Thu/ etc) I see other producers doing same thing with guitars... 2 tracks d.i. and effected. Thanks this was helpful.

Hey Andrew! I usually like to use a DI just in case I need to change the guitar tone later, like when mixing. Or if I’m not the one mixing it, I like to deliver the DI as an option in case the mixing engineer doesn’t like my tones 😊

Hi and thanx for you educational video. Question, is recording with two stereo mics teh same thing as multi-track recording? Thanx, j
@woodyardmusic4 күн бұрын
Id consider that multitrack recording, sure! Pretty much anything more than one track is multitrack recording.

Is it possible to record 5 piece band LIVE using LOGIC PROX and focusrite with only two input channel?
@woodyardmusic24 күн бұрын
I mean it’s possible. You’d probably want 1 channel for vocal and one channel for band/room. Or capture the whole band in a stereo mix assuming there’s a PA. It probably won’t sound great but could work for a demo

I've been trying to record guitar with the signal split to two mono outputs and various pedals. When I try to input these two mono signals into logic as input 1 and input 2 I can only get one or the other, but not both at the same time. I've tried creating an aggregate input but that didn't work either.
@woodyardmusic4 ай бұрын
That’s odd. What interface are you using?
@trailingupwards4 ай бұрын
@@woodyardmusic I'm running one USB cable from a Boss Katana Go to one of the USB inputs on my MacBook. I'm running a separate USB cable from a Fender Mustang GTX100 to a different USB input on my MacBook. Logic can't seem to recognize the katana and mustang inputs simultaneously, even if I combine the two into a single aggregate input.
@woodyardmusic4 ай бұрын
@@trailingupwards I think the only way to get that to work would be with an aggregate device. I would double check the routing for your aggregate device, it might not be 1 and 2

this video is great for showing how to set up recording, but I am looking for a video on managing multiple takes and the practices involved in comping. you get to that stuff at the very end and its not really addressed
@woodyardmusic4 ай бұрын
Yeah, fair enough. I’ve been wanting to make a dedicated comping/editing video. I’ll be sure to do that in the coming weeks!

Ok so here's the Question. I have an external keyboard that I'm using to record into logic....I create the mic/line channel and I can hear it, I create another audio channel below it and place a logic audio loop into that channel click the loop button so that I will loop but for some reason when I have the loop audio going I lose sound on the keyboard. I can't hear it at all. when I stop the loop, the audio of the external keyboard comes back. Am I setting something up incorrectly?
@woodyardmusic2 ай бұрын
Ahhh, I know what’s going on here. Logic has this weird quirk that I haven’t found a workaround for. If you have a channel armed for recording and hit play, you won’t hear the audio that you input into the channel. You either need to just hit record while you play your keyboard over the loop, or turn off the record arm and hit play. Input monitoring can stay on for either of these options. Hope that helps!

Why can’t I press the little red record button on both tracks? It’s only letting me do it on track one. I’ve done everything you said. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong!
@woodyardmusicАй бұрын
Do you have a different input set on each channel? I’ve had that issue when both channels I’m trying to record are both on “input 1” for instance

Please can you help me? from my interface my Logic Pro not receiving any signal
@woodyardmusic3 ай бұрын
I’d start by restarting logic and your interface, then change your audio device to something else like “built-in microphone” then back to your interface. Also if your interface requires drivers/software, make sure that’s updated
