Logic Says Free Mixtape if People Sign Petition, Breaks Down His Production, Plays Unreleased Songs

Hard Knock Tv's Nick Huff Barili sits down with Logic for his last interview in his LA home studio and for an exclusive in-depth to break down Logic's new album No Pressure. This is episode 6, where Logic breaks down his production of “Heard Em Say” including sampling Manfred Mann's Earth Band's "Lies Through the 80s” and chopping up the sample on Ableton. In this episode, Logic plays an unreleased beat that he produced, which he then freestyles to it on the spot. Logic also plays unreleased song “Intrusive Thoughts”, as well as snippets from an un-released mixtape where he is rapping over other peoples beats including Mike Will Made It and Kendrick Lamar songs. Nick tells Logic that he is going to start a petition for him to release the free mixtape for fans, to which Logic replies that he will when the petition gets to 1 Million! For FL users - that sauce he mentioned from noID is basically using the "Hold" and "Cut Itself" functions, pretty easy to do

@@hamzu When you click on an instrument / sample in the channel rack and it brings up that little settings window with the wave form and 3 tabs to scroll through, go to the middle one where it has all the knobs like attack, delay, decay, hold etc. If you turn every dial to 0 but leave the hold one at 100% it allows you to have a manual note length so when you take your finger off the pad it will stop. Generally tweaking those dials in general will produce some different effects aswell

The secret sauce he’s referring to is called “cut by itself” in FL Studio. Basically I use it when I lay down 808’s so the bass isn’t overlapping. Same thing applies to the vocal chops. Yes I know he uses Ableton, but both programs are essentially the same in a way.
