Welcome to Forever had some hype tracks, not boombap and they had top notch lyricism from Logic • Ballin • 5AM • 925 Young Sinatra wasn't just boombap, he was someone trying to make it. I feel like that's what was missing in YSIV, the anger, passion, and hunger from Logic. He was trying to prove himself back then. Now that he made it, he's settled down and just not trying as hard to prove himself.
@Will-bn9km6 жыл бұрын
That's true but the hunger and the passion probably came from Logic wanting to make it. And Logic has made it so he can't really get the anger and the hunger that he originally had in the game, as obviously he would therefore be more passionate considering his urge to succeed. This album was pretty much fan service (even though I thought it was one of his best *albums* ,that category including the BT shit) and to be his final send off to the Young Sintara persona. Also to add onto that, Logic has evolved over time sonically espiecally in terms of music but also mentally. He can't always rap over old school beats as it would get redundant, That's why I personally think him making it an album and making an old school boombap type style was probably the best he could do to bring it back to the original vibe.

Idc how long he’s been working on it. I would say wait a year before releasing. If you give your audience content frequently they aren’t going to appreciate as much. It’s kind of like COD in the beginning everyone loved it but after years of new releases it became stale and lack of new ideas. I get that he’s profiting a lot more from releasing so quick but still I prefer quality over quantity
@rraul76916 жыл бұрын
Rey Martinez yea I agree with you in that. I’d rather him drop projects less often with more quality. But even when he was dropping amazing albums like under pressure, the incredible true story, welcome to forever. (Etc) he was dropping them every year. A lot of people are saying “ohh he’s not hungry anymore, he got all the money he needs now he’s not putting any effort into his projects” in my opinion logic is still hungry to become better but he wants to branch out and do something else than rap. We all know he can do it. He’s proven that to us album after album. Now he wants to show us he can sing, play the piano. And whatever he decides to do next.

Jdm Sauvage I watch all of his interviews. Just because he says something doesn't mean it's true. He was my favorite rapper for 3 or 4 years until a little after everybody came out. He knew what he was doing making a song like 1800. Don't get me wrong it's a great message but at the same time he made it in order to appeal to people who only listen to mainstream music, which is why he had to release songs like one day. After he released under pressure and tits( which are considered by the majority of logic fans to be his two best projects) he was still nowhere near a mainstream rapper but had an extremely strong fan base that he had from the start of his Mixtapes. I can almost guarantee that 50% of his current fans became "fans" after everybody came out. Again in no way am I hating( I still listen to logic everyday) but he knew exactly the direction in which he was going and the audience he was targeting and he executed it perfectly.

Logic says that people loved him on the come up when ''he was their little secret'' back then. I just think that his stuff was genuinely better back then cause as he states he had that 1 year to make it if not then he will just submit to society and swallow his loss. He had 1 shot to put his heart and soul to the music because his livelihood and success depended on that during those times. I don't know if its right to say but i feel like he has gotten a bit lazy now, no he does work hard but he just doesn't need to put that same effort as he did back then because he made it already. I just feel like he needs to come up with a new amazing Project that The incredible true story was. That album was truly different as a whole. No bs about racial stuff, coming from a violent and poor household (no disrespected but thats all what we've been hearing for the last couple projects). And i truly apologize cause i know how harsh that may sound =/ it was great to get to know him but we already aknowledge, no reason to keep going on, honestly. But yeah TITS was truly different production wise and the whole Project was like a story, just clever but casual spitting on incredible soundtracks. Another one of those would really help him at this point

Tbh my first listen was disappointing and I see why some other members of the Rattpack weren't feeling it, but after the second listen it became really clear to me that this is top 3 work IMO. He gave us everything YS gave us on the previous tapes and still found a way to stay true to he is now in 2018 and to me thats commendable considering everyone is always complaining about "oh we want the old logic back". And the thing that changed it for me was to listen to it without any expectation of what it could or should be. I hope the rest of you who didn't feel YSIV can give it a couple more listens and find the same excitement I did. Always have respect for your opinion Dev, you're still Rattpack to me

Look, I absolutely love Logic, and I still enjoyed this project. I think Logic has immense skill and 6ix is a hell of a producer who will always put out at least decent tracks. Problem is, Logic has been saying the same thing constantly for the last few projects, and there's just nothing more to say about it. I'm not going to knock him for putting out what he wants to put out, I'll still listen, but I think that until he comes at things with a new angle, and has some variation in the message of his tracklist, he'll always be living in the shadow of Under Pressure within the public eye. Dude has crazy skill, and he has all the materials, I just really hope he can put them together and come up with a new and unique concept that lets him truly showcase what he's capable of lyrically and musically. Nevertheless, I'll always be hyped for a Logic album. I just hope he really knocks it out of the park with his next one.

While I disagree heavy with your final verdict, it's your opinion. I loved the album. I just feel some people want YSIV to have the exact feel as the previous ones, where you have to consider the time that has passed and everything he's gone through from UP to this point.

It is.... This is YSIV, go listen to WTF and Undeniable and realize that the beats of this project are very underwhelming compared to previous Young Sinatra's...
@Will-bn9km6 жыл бұрын
@@ribaworld But then again, he can never go back to that level of hunger and passion he had then as he was still a kid in a sense trying to make it and so there was always a strive. But now that he's at where he wants to be, he can't feed off the same anger. I do think the YS mixtapes are better than the album, but this album is better than his past like 3 albums in my opinion. I think people will mainly shit on the album due to it not delivering the exact same vibe which i feel is unfair.

I'm a huge fan of Logic and I always have been but I think Meami hit the nail on the head when he said he feels like logic maybe lost his hunger. There's no doubt that Logic is a super talented/skilled rapper but I personally just haven't been feeling the passion that really captured me on his first few projects. I truly think Logic has the potential to be one of the best rappers in the game right now but just seems like something is missing. (just my opinion, understand if you disagree)

i agree with the album being very underwhelming, some songs i like but as a whole, YSIV missed with big expectations. the hunger wasn’t really there nor was the passion unlike Undeniable or UP where his creativity was magical. as a fan of Meamda, I am still with you cuz u real and that’s all we could ask for. as for Logic, the weight is on his shoulders for the next project, sadly, and that mountain is a rough one to climb

I was so excited for this album. I've been listening to logic since 2012 and the first song I ever heard was Numbers. I got into the album and I was hyped. I listened to the first song and I was like, ok this is just an intro, let's get into the fire that this has to have in it. I got 3 songs in and I was so disappointed already that I didnt even bother finishing it that night. I went to sleep woke up the next morning and I still wasnt feeling it. Welcome to forever will be his best project ever hands down. 100 miles running or whatever it's called made me mad because it sounded like an everybody track. At the end of the day, RattPack till my pulse flat, but this isnt young Sinatra, its mediocre at best. There is only about 3-4 songs that are good out of the 14 tracks and that is unacceptable. I love logic and I will support him until the end, but I dont think he will ever be as good as he was when he was hungry for it.

I honestly agree I have been apart of the Rattpack for quite some time, I am by no means a die-hard logic fan however he is my favourite artist atm and has been for a while. I absolutely love the old Young Sinatras undeniable and welcome to forever are personally my favourite work from logic. Don't get me wrong I love the albums such as under pressure but there is just something about the older young sinatras where you can really get that hungry vibe from logic, he had the fire in him to make it to the top. Now that logic has gotten the success he deserves I will have to say that old hunger that he used to have is just no longer there. YSIV still is a banger but it just doesn't come close to undeniable and welcome to forever.
