A Beautiful Multiplication Puzzle || Only For Genius minds

Credit : I came across this puzzle from a youtube channel Ty Yann (a french math trainer).
I have a personal opinion about these encoded puzzles (and cryptoarithmetic puzzles) that "Leading Zeros" must be considered while solving them. I went through authentic sources (such as wikipedia) that explains about Leading Zeros.
And I was correct ! Leading zeros are USUSALLY skipped while doing calculations (but that doesn't mean it's illegal to use them). Especially while working with Cryptoarithmetic puzzles, one must consider the possibility of Leading Zeros (Again... this is my personal opinion... you are most welcome to share your thought in the comments section or please write to me at [e-mail]. Puzzle statement:
You are given a multiplication of two three digit numbers.. It follows a beautiful pattern of numbers from 1 through 6 in a diagonal format... but all other digits in this calculation are hidden with dots.

Sir with great respect to you, I can solve this in less than one min. 599×999=less than 6lakh,but the product is more than 6lakh. So third digit of both the no are more than 5.As 4 is even so 2×7=4, that means 3rd digit in top row is 7. Last row given digit is 5. 7×8×9=65, but carry can not be 9, so 3rd digit in bottom is 9. Rest is easy. Please correct me if I am wrong

I never considered the 0 digits leading numbers, it's a good thing the problem never used them. I did most everything else the same, except for determining 4:49. I noticed, due to 1 providing no carry over when multiplied by a single integer, that I could brute force by multiplying 73 by numbers 1-9 to find 3-digit numbers with a 3 in the tens column. I realized 73*6 is the only answer, as it gives 438.

Good puzzle. I solved in about 20 minutes with this approach. Bottom line was 650K or greater - So need 900x700 or 800x800 etc between the first two numbers. Then iterate between some combinations for 10 minutes to rule out a few combinations. Lines 1 and 2 post multiplication help with this.

731 you know that thousand-digits could be 9 and 7 as 900 x 700 = 630,000 or 926 800 x 800 = 640000 as the answer is 6..... (+ 5 digits given). Possible 9 and 6 __________ let start with 9 and 7 as thousand digits 9. So 7. 1 x 92. In the second row '4' 4386 is in the thousands digit and 20 x 700 = 1400, so that satisfy the thousand and 14620 ten-thousand digit of the second row. For the first row to get 3 for the hundred 657900 digit 7 as to be multiplied by 9 or 6 as 9 x 7 = 63 and 7 x 6= 42 which would ____________ become '43 if get a '1' from the right. let start with 6 (as to avoid using similar 676906 digit. So far we have 7- 1 x 926.. 900 x 730 = 63000 + 2700 = 65.... which satisfies the'5' in the third row as we are looking a '2' from thousands and so a '3' is needed as if you multiply 2 x 9 = 18 you get a '1' and if 4 x 9 =36 you get a 3, but you are looking for a '2' so it is '3' . so now we 731 and 926 when multiplied you get 676906 answers.

For last digit 6 , we could have simply checked for a digit which multipled by 731 gives 3 at 100th place.

Because you are multiplying two three digit numbers and the answer is six digits , which begins with 6 (given ) 6..... , then those two digits cant be 300 x 900 , for example because that only will give you 270,000 or 300,000 +. so it has to be 600 x 900 as 6 x 9 =540000, though smaller than 600,000 + could be over 600,000 + if it is say 690 x 990. 700 x 900 is a possibility as this equals 630000 a 6 with 5 digits. 800 x 800 also gives 640000, but you are trying to avoid using same digit 8 and 8.. And this is how you start.

Wasn't too difficult. Not sure "Only for Genius minds" is valid. As soon as I figured out 731, I worked out its times table, up to 9. Only one of these values had a hundreds value of 3.

How do you explain 731x9=657,900 ????? Didn't you say every dot represent a digit? How can you cancel or ignore zeros??? According to this logic 2=200=20,000 Correct the riddle by erasing the last dots in the right side of the 3 last rows. Like this 1 * * * 2 * ______ * * 3 * * * 4 * * * 5 * ______________ * * * * * 6

0:40 - ! Idisagree that these dots are zero!! In these type of puzzles, it shouldn´t have dots there at all!!!

Hold on.... those zeros are absolutely logical... when you multiply the top number with the units digit of second number, you write the output as is... then you multiply it by tens digit... that's why the additional zero is put at the end.. and for hundred's digit, two zeros are put.... But since these zeros will never be replaced with any values, they can simply be ignored giving a pattern of left shifted rows.

Hey sir you have upload one puzzle in which 4 people have to crossed the puzzle in 17 min... But I think in that puzzle the solution is 10 minutes...let us consider A ,B ,C ,D....in which A. Will cross the puzzle in 1 min , B =2 min ,C = 7min and D = 10 minutes My solution firsty A & D both go together with torch to cross the bridge. A will cross the bridge in 1 minutes also D completed 10% race now he shouts to B and B WILL come crossed the bridge in 2min so now D TOTAL time is (1+2=3) min..(30% completed) now C come and both D & C both will cross the bridge in next 7 minutes....so total time to cross the bridge is 10 minutes( 1 +2+7)....means 💯 % race completed... Plz comment this solution is right or wrong

Prateek... you said A&D will first cross the bridge together.. then they have be together throughout the bridge length, because they have just one torch... ultimately it will take 10 mins for them to cross (because speed of slower person should be considered due to lamp dependency).

Since ab * c = def (all 6 different digits from 1 to 6), we can draw following conclusions: (~= stands for not equal to) a or c ~= 1, otherwise def will be 2-digit b ~= 1, otherwise c and f will be same f ~= 1, as only other odd digits are 3 and 5 b, c or f can't be 5 for similar reasons (f will be either 0 or 5) 6 when multiplied by 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 gives last digit as 6, 2, 8, 4, 0.... either repeated digits or out of range, hence c ~= 6 So c can be 2, 3 or 4.... Let's check each.... 2 when multiplied by 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 gives last digit as 2, 6, 8, 0, 2.... hence if c is 2, then a3 * 2 = 1e6....
