just a confusion if logestic reg cant find global minima as (cost function of linear reg) ...... then HOW does linear REGRESSION finds GLOBAL minima in linear regresion..? HOPE YOU GOT MY QUESTION

I mean in linear reg for linear reg cost function local minima will be also there including global minima... so how it will show the global minima

Hi Manoj.. sorry for the very late reply. Value of cost function depends on the value of Y. The values of Y in logistic regression can only take 0/1, while it can be any number in linear regression. As for logistic regression, it can only take 0/1 values, applying the same formula will result in completely different type of graph. In the graph of linear regression, both global minima and local minima are the same, thus it is able to find the global minima. While for logistic regression, the graph is different and the thus local minima and global minima will be different, thus it is not able to find global minima.
