Courier customs entry is also different from how freight forwarders clear their goods through customs. Some courier companies such as fed ex offer airfreight services. One other difference between them is the quality of handling. Courier services tend to handle the box with less care, all thrown on top of each other, hence why if you have something fragile and possibly valuable such as artworkand antiques, best not to take a chance on Courier, opt for airfreight instead.

One of the advantage to move shipment by courier is fast customs clearance. However If goods not cleared from customs due to some reason shipment will return to shipper after 7 days as they cannot hold the goods more than 7 days at destination.

Really? Ive been a customs broker for God knows how many years, airfreight clearance through customs is normally within 3 minutes, within 10 minutes by anybody half competent. The reason why you said this is because some freight forwarders are not that competent. When goods arrive at the airline bonded warehouse, there's no reason not to clear it straightaway. You can even fo a pre-entry, so as soon as it hits the airline bonded warehouse, it will be automatically cleared as long as the entry is done correctly. The disadvantage of airfreight is the possibility of paying extra storage charges at the airline should the entry hit route 2 for example, storage charges will apply. First 48hrs are free of charge storage. In case the entry doesn't change to route 6 within 48hrs, storage will apply, which is normally £10 for every 100k per day.
