Here I'm reviewing the Logitech G502 X Lightspeed. An updated version of the tried and trusted G502 Lightspeed but with optical-mechanical switches and some other subtle enhancements that make it worth considering.

Nice review! My old wired G502 is still kicking. Looking to go wireless with the G502, but without the costly RGB. My only wish is that I had Bluetooth so I could use it with my Steam Deck too. Looks like I’ll need a hub.

Great review. I must be the one person who would actually prefer silent buttons and silent switches on my keyboard and mice, but having the click sound doesn't stop me buying a mouse and I am currently using the older model of this exact mouse. I'm looking to replace it because its suddenly gone majorly laggy to the point of being unuseable when running on battery. Fortunately it runs perfectly normally plugged in. Its been a great mouse and will be a good backup once its replaced with this current model. I'm not actually using this exact predecessor as the one I'm using has RGB which I put on the dimmest I can see the colour fluctuations so as to monitor the battery. I will go the non rgb model this time.

You are not alone! I wish that logitech would make a silent gaming mouse for a change. I actually bought the Logitech M330 (which is silent but not by any means meant for gaming) and used it for a while for gaming before deciding it would be better to suck it up, deal with the clicking sounds but have the features of a true gaming mouse. Definitely not alone there!

After a bit more than 2 years (of course :( ), my G502 Lightspeed also started suffering from the switches doing a doubleclick when clicked once. So got myself the G502 X Lightspeed ... and it feels like a kind of downgrade - It feels way more "plastic", it has less "body". This is partly because of the lighter weight. I knew they decided to ditch the extra weights (a decision I personally don't understand?) but it's really too light now. - The left and right click has more travel. There where with the G502 had a very light and direct reaction, with the G502 X I have to apply just that little bit more pressure and feels/acts less direct. - The 2nd DPI change button got way too big. I have big hands and now when using the Forward button, my thumb is also touching that bigger DPI change button a lot of times. - The DPI indicator is now just 1 led and is placed there where you can not see it because it's now behind the scroll wheel (and my fingers). - No direct check option anymore to see the battery level, now only shows when turning the mouse on. - The pros are there too: the gliders are better and the option to turn around the thumb button for easier acces. Returned it and got a normal G502 Lightspeed again. The X is just not worth the money and the normal model is way cheaper now.

I switched from G Pro to G502X Lightspeed last week and I'm happy. I did it because I needed that third thumb button. If only G Pro had three buttons on the side it would be the perfect mouse but alas. Until Logitech adds that 3rd button to G Pro I'll stick with 502X.

One thing this mouse doesn't have that the MX Master 2S (and 3S) does, is if you quickly flick the scroll wheel, it won't temporarily activate the hyperscrolling mechanic (edit: Logitech calls this SmartShift on the MX series). Razer's competing mouse, the Basilisk V3 Pro does have this. I really miss that functionality.

I have 4 versions of G502, the G502 Hero, the G502 Hero LS, the G502X wired and this one, and I love the G502X wired for gaming because of the lightweight and this one because of the battery. But deep down I like the form of the G502 version the most, but this one is still a great one.

I just bought x version after 3 years of original and what is problem for me, not mentioned anywhere, left main button is smaller than use to be approx 0.5cm at the front edge. When I click on the left main button, I am touching side button!!! Did not happen with original one.

Excellent as usual, Prawn. One thing I'm curious about: how does the size compare to the Basilisk V2 and/or V3? I bought a Basilisk V2 Ultimate and among the many things I dislike about it, the main ones is how much smaller it feels in my hand compared to my MX518 (which is lovely but I want to go wireless and have more buttons that are larger and more accessible). The Basilisk small enough that I get a slightly sore hand after a while. I've tried a G502 Hero at a store, and it does feel slightly larger, but I've obviously not used it long enough to determine whether the discomfort would still be there. I've also looked into the Corsair Ironclaw Wireless due to the larger size, but the battery life and quality don't seem up to snuff (for 2023 anyway). Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Is the led indicator in front of the scroll wheel programmable? i like to program it to different profiles so for example my Counter-strike settings it is blue, on my world of warcraft settings it is orange and so on

when gaming, do u find urself clicking the dpi buttons on the side? i can see myself doing that over and over and get fed up with it.. unless they can be mapped to do other things too? im not too familiar with logitech mice, ive always used corsair but im looking into the g502x

I know what you mean as I have large hands. Fortunately I haven't found it to be that much of an issue, but yes you can remap them with G HUB.

Considerando il costo dello stesso dico: Bellezza sulla scrivania : 10 Durata della batteria : 6 ( la 1' carica durato 2 sett intense , la seconda sembri stia durando la metà ) Illuminazione : 10 + Velocità di risposta 10+ Comodità : 6 ( il tasto laterale da cecchino nonostante la prolunga , per utilizzarlo comodamente bisogna avere un pollice lungo 10 cm. Nuovi piedini PTTF :4 molto scorrevoli ma ( utilizzandoli con pad rigido logitech , si consumano come un wafer su carta brasiva da 120 ) Feedbach switch : 3 ( motivo della restituzione ) NUOVI SWITCH IBRIDI CON TECNOLOGIA LASER , dire pessimi , é fare un complimento. Appena sballato già il feedback era 🤔...a distanza di quasi un mese ..per carità ! Switch sx si é irrigidito gravando sensibilmente sul rate di fuoco ( ovviamente utilizzato click to click ). Gioco su sparatutto dal 96 , credo che dopo 27 anni di esperienza, posso garantire che questo SUPERMOUSE non é assolutamente adatto a gli sparatutto e soprattutto il prezzo ragazzi..attenzione ai vostri soldini 😉. Mine are also 8.5 inches in length. The mouse fits well, really I think the ergonomics of the MX Master series is better.

Truly, this mouse just sucks. It's an expensive mouse and this "super feature", the free/infinite scroll just works wrong. Many times when you soft or normal spin the wheel, has a knockback. I set in regedit the scroll on 4 chars, 4 lines and the issue got smoother, but persists. In addition, main clicks are just not so responsive as the mechanical ones. Time ago, I had to buy two G203 because of the double click. I thought with this so-called high-quality mouse things would be alright, I was wrong. Maybe many year has to past to buy another Logitech mouse/keyboard, just doesn't worth it.

That sucks. I owned both g502 lightspeed and hero since it came out and it works wonders. Never had a problem on double clicks.The only problem I encountered is the free/infinite scrool wheel lock which sometimes gets stuck.
