The issue with the G920 Brake is inside the sping is a rubber block its very easy to take apart and remove this part and i have no clue why it was put init as without the ting works perfect

I've done farming for years (old and new tractors) and non of them are as hard to press as the brake pedal on my G920. I could press until it felt like I was about to break something and my rig would bend and the brakes would only be reading about 70% of the potential braking force. I tried increasing the sensitivity so 70% now reads as 100% but I didn't have fine enough control over breaking, it was too twitchy. I opened up the brake assembly and removed the rubber block which creates this resistance once the brake is half way down. Now the breaking is super easy (too easy in my opinion) but it probably mimics modern heavily assisted breaking more accurately. Definitely an awful awful design.

The resistance in the brake is provided by a rubber block dropped into the centre of the spring, it literally functions as a bump stop that you have to crush in order to get the full range of the pedal. They've likely used a softer rubber in the new one. On a side note, it is 'relatively' easy to remove the block in order to remove the resistance and make it feel the same as the accelerator pedal. You could also, in theory, 'adjust' it by cutting it shorter to add the resistance later in the pedal range. #KeepPlaying #PlayAdvanced XBox version please ;-)

Very good review thanks, It helps me. I was faced with deciding which wheel to buy G920 or G923 (xbox version). I have watched many videos and read many articles. The price difference was €50. I had the previous wheel basic thrustmaster for more than 6 years. I weighed the pros/cons and ended up going with the G923 - the main reason for me was the release year (hopefully it will be supported for many years) and maybe the thrustforce feature will be more supported in the future. The new LED string, the +/- button and the new rotate button were not my priority as I heard they are not fully supported by Xbox. First impression: the quality of the wheels is very good, without annoying noises from the wheels. I don't follow the led string while playing. The brake pedal is too hard. I watched videos on how to remove it according to the G920, but the rubber is no longer there - only the spring. So I replaced it with a spring from the clutch and it works great (I don't use the clutch now).

Will never buy another logitech product. The wiring and motherboard in the wheel failed just a couple months in and ended up having to have it repaired by logitech (unsuccessfully) 3 times until I finally gave up and sautered it properly myself. The 6-speed shifter was nice for maybe 100 hours of use before the sensors failed and it started mis shifting in nearly every gear. The only good thing about it was the pedals though the Thrustmaster ones are probably better. Edit: Forgot to mention that even though I repaired the wheel, one of the padel shifters completely stopped working so the wheel is pretty much useless at this point... all after maybe 100 hrs of use and 3 trips to the manufacturer... BUY THRUSTMASTER!

I already have the G920.. regardless of how many people on reddit saying it's not worth the upgrade, i couldn;t help myself and i did lol... honestly, not much regret.. yea the extra $$ sucks, but I appreciate all the subtle changes ... plus the brake on the G920... needs to be burned with fire lmao. Thank god Logitech was smart enough to fix that problem with the G923.. I really didn't want to have to open up my G920 and start pulling shit out of it.

@@matyasmatejka4242 I personally don't think it's worth spending the extra money on. If you're going to upgrade, I say go all the way and upgrade to Fanatec or some other DD style wheel. Otherwise, I'd just stay with your 920.

You skipped the part where you have to force Logitech G hub to download the necessary drivers for these wheels through editing json files. :) It won't do that for you automatically as you plug it in. You even have to manually run the driver INF files after G Hub finally retrieves the correct files. Has been a problem for the longest time, and still no updates from Logitech.

I’d say if the brake pedal is stiff it’s because the spring is new and hasn’t been used/worn down, gotta break it in.

Worth noting that the "break point" connectors were also included on many Xbox controllers from the 360 and up so if you ever loose one you should be able to get ahold of another without too much hassle lol

Thank you, Logitech do some awesome entry level wheels but if you're budget can be pushed higher I'd definitely recommend going for the Direct Drive wheel base as it gives a much better experience.

yes, it is wort upgrading: better brake, rev lights, trueforce, no deadzone whatsoever. I suggest adding a shifter with custom sim shop handbrake mod and truebrake mod and it's amazing.

If you’re not a serious online gamer/sim racing or anything like that and just playing to have fun on a game like NASCAR Heat would it really make that much of a difference if you purchased the more expensive one? I’m a casual gamer (hour or two after work to chill out) but playing racing games with a controller is boring and want to buy a wheel, pedals, and shifter for games like I mentioned NASCAR, F1, Forza etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

My question is how did you manage to have the rev led lights to work on Xbox while racing. Mines only turn on when the wheel itself is turned on and calibrated and then never turns on when racing?

Just bought this wheel but the + and - button, lsb, rsb, 24 point selector won’t bind to any control on Forza 7, Forza horizon 4 and F1 2020 plus the Rev counter doesn’t work. eh, might just stick with my modded g920. easy enough to fix that brake issue on the g920. but with the mounts still being plastic and a very very average shifter, not worth it really. and still.... no support for a handbrake add on. got a aftermarket wheel on mine, hardwired in a hydro handbrake, inverted pedals and sorted out the brake issue. just need to add on extended paddles to suit the wheel and find a new shifter mod to fix the shifter feel and its all sorted until I get the moeney for a fanatec

I have a moded g920 as well. 1000x better. 13" OMP flat leather wheel, extended paddle shifter, magnetic paddle shifter, gteye springs, custom sim nylon insert for shifter, shifter knob. Oh, the buttkicker 2 for more immersion.
