Every single wired headphones set I ever got, of every brand, Sony, Dre beats, Bose, Logitech, Turtle Beach, etc. has all broken over time simply because of the cable. I finally gave in and got the G930 as my first wireless headset and will never go back to wired headphones again.

+Caleb Astle what exactly do you mean by interrupted? Are the headphones turning off? Or is it receiving some kind of interference? I have found the latest Logitech Gaming Software is not compatible with some of my games. I use an older version, 8.57.145 and it has worked for me on all my games.

+jdmikeg4 Almost like they reset. It will happen regardless of what program I am using be it a game or watching media stuffs. The battery will be completely full and they will just disconnect then reconnect without me doing anything to them.

I've used the G930 for about 6 months, and ,personally, I love 'em. As Linus mentioned, there's a tad bit of break-in, but otherwise you get comfortable in them real quick. Sound is great. Solid build as well, so I see these lasting me for a good long while. I heartily suggest them.

Yes, they are entirely USB, you do not need a sound card in your PC to use them.

SPARTANEC FEDOR There are some that say you need the sound card hook ups to get "true surround", but in either case, you cannot hook this up to those outputs anyway. It is USB only. I do not know if these would be the best wireless surround sound headsets for the money or not. I only use headsets for voice chat. There are headsets that can use multiple inputs, like the Steel Series H Wireless and some Razer headsets(I forgot the name of the one I saw) Those can use USB or a sound card. Sorry I can't be more helpful than that.

I'm confused. Does the G930 have two drivers (2.0)? Can I disable the virtual surround effect? I don't like that since games already incorporate such things with 2.0 headsets. You don't need a special headset for that. Should I get the G930 or the Corsair 2000?

I don't know if it's just me but from the moment I got these I had SO many problems. When you plug it in to charge whilst wearing it and you move around, your headset continuously cuts out. They've now decided to continuously cut out even whilst not on charge and they're NOT EVEN A YEAR OLD! I hate them. Worst headset I've ever owned and that's including cheap $30 headsets.

Worst headset I've ever owned. They are very comfortable for me and the sound quality is great but it has an issue that it disconnects (for some reason) every 10 mins or so. After 1 year and a half using it I decided to give it to my pitbull to chew on. I also bough the logitech keyboard G510S and the screen stopped working after a year. I will never trust logitech again. Based on your reviews I will try the HyperX Cloud Gaming and see what happens, thx.

Not Faulty, Just poorly designed. They work perfectly in an area with 0 WiFi interference. I unfortunately live in an area with a metric butt-tonne of WiFi interference on the 2.4Ghz bandwidth.

Try performing a clean boot. My pair did that constantly whether charging or not before I did. I don't know why clean booting worked but it did for me. Good luck! :)

These are amazing headphones, I have had them for a while now. They are very well made unless you throw them across the room a lot. These are very recommended, disregard anything linus says. They are very comfortable unless you wear thick glasses. I have these along with the Logitech 5.1 z 506. Amazing value!

In addition: The outer ear is still only a minor part in helping us hear the location of the sound. Our outer ears are designed for receiving the sound better so that it amplifies when it hits our eardrums. Even a person with no outer ears could hear the sound direction perfectly. Better give your own source a good read through.

I've had a pair for a couple months and they are amazing! I hate being wired. Great quality in sound and the spindle hub is only really needed for charging, the wireless transmitter can be put anywhere. Good for going to a friends house and not hauling extra wires around.

Hi Linus, I would like to say that even though we have 2 ears, we have an infinite amount of directions where the sound will come to our ear and our ear can recognise some basic directions otherwise we would just here everything like it's coming from our front and we wouldn't know if something is behind us or at our left or at our front. Surround gaming gives a big competitive edge and it is logical. With 2.1 you would just have 2 directions, with 5.1 you have 5 (roughly) directions and so on..

These headsets are completely awesome. I bought a refurbished pair of G930 for $80 in 2013. About 3 years later they to malfunction so I called Logitech and explained the problem and they agreed to send me a brand new pair in exchange of my old ones. They even provided the shipping. Before I bought the G930 I was using the G35 (about the same but wired). These G35 broke 5 times and Logitech ALWAYS agreed to replace them. And I'm not talking about all the other Logitech products I had who broke. Logitech always replace broken products even when they break many years after we buy them. 5 thumbs up to Logitech.

I've owned a pair of these for some time, few things to note... They pick up electronic noises easily, if there's no music or game noise being played i almost always have to take the headset off. If the headset is off while being charged it will often not turn on until you unplug it. And if you don't have it in 7.1 the sound is often one sided. These are all things I've had to deal with since purchase. They might be specific to my pair but just a heads up. Keep up the great vids Linus!

Thanks for the informative comment. It's great to decipher the actual difference between the 40mm and 50mm drivers. However, I ask of you if you have tried both the Corsair 1500 and the Wireless version? Because i've read reviews that state they actually produce a little bit of a varied sound from each other. I thought one was just a purely wireless version, and one was connected via usb. Can you shed some light on this and if you've tried both, which is better?

I've used this headset for 4 years, had to replace it once over that time due to dropping it so many times that the plastic connecting the bands to the speakers broke. This is a huge improvement compared to all the Razer and Panatronic headsets I've had which usually had a life of 3 months before a speaker gave out or the cable stopped working. Certainly staying away from Razer...

Well, that's true. But if you think about it in terms of direction of the sound, with two speakers there are only two directions. Seven speakers seem to represent better the way someone usually hear. That probably can be simulated with two speakers and software, however it would be interesting to know whether the same quality can be achieved -again, in terms of sound direction-. Keep in mind that it's not my intention to discuss the overall audio experience.

I have this headset and i gotta say they're pretty great! The surround is cool and the wireless doesn't affect you at all. It has bass and treble control for the sound. And comes with a voice changer in the software that works great! But yeah, ask if you need anything else answered.

You CAN use these on your PS3 or 360, but you have to output audio to your PC and then set your PC as a playback device using an adapter like the Sabrient 7.1 XS, which is sold on Amazon for like $7.

The headband is probably made of metal but the pivot point for the cups is made of cheap plastic, I had a G35 headset and that part broke after about a year, and I do take care of my stuff. Was pretty disapointed so I went with a Steelseries 7H with the USB card and it's awesome! Not going back to logitech for audio again. I do like their mice/keyboards tho.

I bought these a while back and they have decent quality sound and a really clear mic. The headband was a little uncomfortable though so i sold it the headset later on. I then bought the Soundblaster Recon3D Omega headset. Sound was a little base heavy so with hindsight, the G930's were better. Oh well.. life goes on

I have it. Good sound quality. And the noise canceling on the mic is excelent and good quality sound from it. Only one problem that occurs sometimes is that it stops sending the right button presses / wheel scrolling on the headset. But it's easy fixed, just turn off and on again. But it can be a little irritating sometimes.

Currently using this headset, had it for about a year. My experience has been really bad with these, my pair of G930's has a habit of disconnecting often. Look up this problem on logitech forums if you're planning on buying these, just be aware it could happen. Apart from that the sound quality is really good and the mic is decent.

The pc version of this headset, the g35 has changeable memory foam. In the box they give 3other ones with different thicknesses. I would definatly suggest headphones from logitech build really well but I had a problem with my braided cable for the rest it's perfect

I agree that the ear cushions/pads are not as soft as they should be, i have glasses and they headset i had previously, a $70 creative tactic360 sigma did not cause me any discomfor. i have since taken the cushions from the creative set and put them on the g930. the pads are softer and have better sound isolation too, i still get a little eritation from my glasses but its not nearly as much. change the pads and they are easily worth the price you can get them for now.

of coarse you can probably get good surround sound with dedicated speakers, but the sound quality lowers, at first not by a noticeable margin but at high volume or with multiple sounds going on it gets pretty obvious

As far as surround sound gaming goes back when I was using my ADA995 speaker system I could definitely tell a difference. The sound was good enough that I could tell where something was because thats where the sound of their gunfire/footsteps/talking was coming from. So far I have owned 2 surround sound headphones and they don't even come close. My theory for this is speakers too close to the ears. That makes it much harder to accurately guage a sound's position.

Personally, my experience with these headphones is fantastic. i can get 8 hours of play time in before the little notification pops up, the sound is great, sure the logitech gaming software can be finicky at times, but overall its great. the headset is rather heavy, and the memory foam did suck at first, but after 3-4 months of wearing them they really form well to my head. the noise cancellation works great, but my biggest peeve is that I've broken two dongles using the usb hub.

I've had this headset for about a year now. To sum it up, the sound is great for gaming and even music, but Logitech never fails to develop terrible drivers. Sometimes it randomly disconnects and sometimes when you unplug the receiver and plug it back in, you will hear the Windows eject sounds repeat for a long time. You have to keep unplugging and plugging it back in. Yes, I'm using the latest drivers and reloaded Windows plenty times. It's the drivers. The only thing holding this headset back.

I use a g930 and it's absolutely amazing and the g35 is basically the same thing with a wire. I havn't had much experience with the 7h so I can't help you there - all I know is that Linus prefers the 7h

Linus, I respect your perspective on two ears with two speakers. But have you ask yourself this question how you locate sound source with just two ears? The two ears actually can locate sound source in 3-D (surround) from sound wave phase shifts. That's how dolphins detect objects ahead, that's how multi-array sonar sensor work as well. You made an important point, if 7.1 has good surround-sound quality, that's what I want to find out from your video.

another one suggested the beyerdynamic dt990s, if you get a superlux hd-668/681 (normal or b version) it will sound more or less the same (some people say its slightly worse and some people say its slightly better but you wont notice a difference if you dont have both of them and try to find the difference) it doesnt even cost 50 bucks so its a great deal important is a xonar soundcard and if you need a mic basicly any mic over 5 bucks will do as good as a headset mic

typically anytime i buy any audio products. especially headphones, if the maker doesn't put speaker specs on the box. its usually because the frequency range and response and other important specs would make their product inferior to a cheaper or alternative product. if you want just a cool headset that has these features this is a great product. if you want sound quality. this is the wrong direction to look for good "clear" sound
