Logitech MX Master Battery change

In this video, I change the battery of my Logitech MX Master. I had to recharge the old one every couple of days in the end. The new battery has more than 3 times the power. Below you find the links to the items I used in the video.

Thanks for showing how to do this. I bought the same exact battery and while it was a little big, the screws managed to shoehorn the whole thing together. I found that the scroll mouse button is now inoperable since the battery is pushing the whole assembly towards the front. Not a big deal since there are a lot of other buttons to sub in. I could go back in to fix it but, ah, f*** it…

Thanks for the video! I did the exact same thing and it worked great; bought the same parts you listed. Only difference is that mine had some trouble closing cleanly (left about 0.5 or 1mm gap on the right side), but the screws hold it in place and its not noticeable once its held together and fully reassembled.

If it's always been plugged in then you've never cycled the battery so it stopped working. Batteries need to be discharged and charged on occasion to stay working

dumb question, if you remove the battery and not put a replacement one, can you use it as a lighter wired version of itself? how heavy is the battery?

Good Question, I don't know to be honest. But the battery doesn't weight much anyway. I don't know if you would even fell a difference.

@@brankly Thank you for replying. I like the shape of it, not as much, but the thing i love about it the most ist eh scroll wheel, but it's sooooooo heavy and i was wondering if it could be lighter if i got rid of it, but if the battery is not that heavy it's probably not worth the surgery

Was going to buy the Master 3s but After watching this video, I changed my mind. Not going to buy anymore no matter how nice it is. Very discouraging. Such a hassle to change out the battery and that is if the battery is easily available.

Can be, it's hard to tell from here. You can try to measure the voltage after you charged it for some time. It should be around 4.0-4.2V. If not then either the battery was bad or the charger is not working. If you have another one lying around you can try to hock it up for testing and charge it so you can determine if it's the battery or the electronics.

I tried this myself and it’s really hard. That blue ribbon connector is extremely fragile and easy to break. When you separate the shell, be very very gentle, and maybe you can replace the battery. But all in all, for 54 bucks on amazon, it’s not worth the risk and grief.

well, in my opinion it is not the matter of money, this is just "know how" guide to enjoy life. anyway, changing such kind of battery is not dangerous as we think. Just doing with care, everything should be okie.
