Amazing work from Abner, $50 is a steal basically. You can really feel the retro approach taken with his design, with soft red and cream really depicts the old classic diner feeling. Mock-ups were also really great, makes you really imagine a pizza place with design in mind and it works really well for envisioning a brand. Humble guy and it feels great knowing that even though inexperienced, he can put out a fine work. Props to both of them.

He's only been designing for one year. He comes across like someone who's got at least ten years experience. And the both them charging 100 and 50 £/$ respectively was crazy you'd thinking at least a 4 or 5 figure sum. Great work by the pair of them but to the winner who incorporated his work to signs, wrapping, cups ect.... absolutely amazing!

Abner was my clear choice. I felt Jeremiah's was way too clean and left me wanting more of the retro essence. I loved the mama wolf idea and if it could have been taken ahead a bit more, it could have hit the mark. Great work from Abner - the font kerning and circular placements can be easily fixed to make it a perfect 10

Great episode, Genius designers, they are definitely under priced, should at lest charge 500$ minimum for the amount of work they put in. Abner was a clear winner for me at first sight, but the concept behind Jeremias's mascot was top tier genius level for branding which made it harder to pick the winner.

It’s funny, the first design is literally what I had in mind with a wolf mascot looking somewhat Disney like and I’d had made a pizza friend too with a play on the pal part 😂 then as he reveal came I was completely shocked lol

This was really fascinating to see how these guys operate. Abner you are massively underselling yourself doing all that for $50. If you had told me the prices without tying them together I would have said the other way round. Both very good artists though.

Love this series/concept, and I can't wait to see more. My personal opinion on the 2 designs that they were both amazing, and WAY underpriced for the work they put in. That being said, I gave the slight edge to Jeremias because the simplistic design is memorable. McDonalds, Kool-aid, Frosted Flakes and many others are instantly recognizable based on their logo mark or mascot, and in the long run, I think Jeremias was easier to remember. Not that detail is bad, but Abner's was too detailed to be memorable (at least for my pea-sized brain, LOL). If Jeremias had used a capital P for the Pizza (agree with Sam on that), included more mockups (agree with Will on that, mockups help sell the idea), and I think the font could have been a little larger in the frame (a little less white space around it), it would have been a grand slam in my book. Anyhow, kudos to both designers, both were extremely well done, and can't wait to see more of this series!

My Jaw Dropped when they said what they charged. Honestly, I don't even want to check my email for $50. I LOVE this series though. I play all your videos in my classroom for my Graphic Design students. Then we all try and guess what you are going to say about the designs.

The competition is such a nice idea, and you may have really added some great exposure to both designers, boosting their confidence and careers! selamat untuk Abner. Kerja bagus mas! As a side note to Will. I agree both need to charge more, however, here in Indonesia USD 50 is the equivalent of 1 million IDR, which (depending on your economic status) can be a good sum of money. That said, the project duration was one week, so maybe not. An added thing to consider is that competition here is probably fierce due to a population of around 30 million here in Jakarta alone, where art and design is a big thing. I do hope your advice of showing clients an example of the process and a portfolio will help the designers to be able to increase their fee. Again congratulations to Abner and also great design work from Jeremias. Looking forward to the next episode 😊

it would be a worth idea to make a video game like super mario video game. its retro and when i see the logo's winner i imediatelly think of a game in a super mario kind of concept. it's amazing the logotype and all the extra details he did which are important. amazing job! congratulations!

This series was great, got me excited to design again after falling out of love with it for a while (working for a company does that for creativity). Hope to see more of it. They both did great, Abner’s design was the winner for me too because it feels like he thought through the branding as a whole. Needed some work with the typography but that is also the hardest part and will improve with experience. Jeremiah’s research was well done even if it missed the brief slightly. I also felt like the illustration, typography and frame didn’t really connect, most likely because of all the different thicknesses. Since the illustration had one stroke thickness throughout I think it would have looked better if the frame had the same. Having a consistent stroke thickness also modernizes it so I wonder how it would have looked if the illustration was more sketch like. Either way they both impressed me!

Logos prices should start at 1000 USD minimum. Your clients will use it everyday, probably for many years. So doing something for 50, 100, 200 dollars what will be in use for many years is just a robbery of those who worked on it. Restaurant dinners can be more expensive...and you sit there for an hour.

It doesnt matter. If its good, they should pay for it, because it will make their brand for so long. Not just for two weeks or two hours. Tell them, that your lowest price is a 1000usd and that money doesnt equal time, but money equal quality

Prices for that quality, is insane! I usually charge between $25-100 depending on detailing, doesn't usually come with mock up's though. Wish I could charge more but the market is so saturated it's difficult. Especially with AI pretty much destroying small jobs. The days when it can produce better workloads, is the day we all lose our livelihood. Struggling to live as it is. I get around $50 a day, which I'd love to have as my main job. that jeremias guy been doing this for 15 to 16 years and charges 100 dollars for a logo? i guess in argentina things are cheap. but yikes. also his refusal to mockups is hilarious, i mean its literally your job to show the customer how the logo should be utilized. but i checked his website, he has an illustrative style which is great and he should charge way more for his art because thats what it is.

the jeremias logo seems the line art weight should have matched with the outline of the logo.. and he did not tried searching for different mockups to try .. i charged my maximum price to US client was $800.. and you should charge according to business..
