Why can't we have this minimalism, different, modern and solid type of identity here in the US? They are using the same ugly, cheesy and unprofessional 3D elements, brightness and too much gradient since the mid 70s and early 80s. The music they are using is also pompous, acoustic, full of brasses and violins. Ugh, I don't like it! I prefer it this way, it's much better. They should also have this in my country, Brazil. The news branding from my country is too "americanized" and the musical themes are inspired by video game and cheesy 80s hit music with digital instruments and keyboards (not modern and electronic music like in most European broadcasters). This is so tedious, they never want to modernize it and give a chance for the future!! The BBC from the UK always had an dynamic, unique and futuristic branding like this one. It's world-famous until now, Martin Lambie-Nairn just created it! He was a genius... We miss him so much. Étienne Robial is another genius too. He was the producer of the unique and legendary branding for Canal+ since 1984!

Étienne Robial actually left Canal+ in 2009, a few days before the new look of Canal+ (which is still used to this day) was released, but the channel itself still uses his fonts and most of the elements from the previous IDs are still referenced to this day. Étienne now works as a freelance graphic designer, and he's still active to this day.
