Thunder Fist (from NASCAR on TBS)

This is the theme to TBS' broadcasts of NASCAR auto racing from 1996 to some time in the 2000s. The name of the composition is "Thunder Fist", and if you'd like to license it, here's the link:

As awesome as “Fuel” was as the intro theme, I wish they kept this as the secondary theme. This was one of the more epic themes of the late 90s early 2000s

"Fuel" was NBC's theme starting in '01. This theme was used by Turner Broadcasting (whose coverage of NASCAR ceased in 2000 and NBC had no licensing to use this theme to begin with.

@@WhoopityDoo well Turner Sports produced all of NBC’s coverage from 2001-06, so Fuel was the NASCAR on TNT theme. NBC’s role was basically to show Turner’s coverage to a network audience. It’s similar to what Turner did with CBS on March Madness from 2011-15, where Turner produced all the games including those on CBS, the difference there was that CBS still used its own announcers for CBS broadcasts, whereas NBC just used Turner’s regular announce team (who were also approved of by NBC executive Sam Flood)

This theme may be coming back in 2025 (when the new NASCAR TV contract starts) or sooner depending on if Fox or NBC pull out of the current deal. Turner has a great shot of regaining NASCAR especially given the fact that Turner recently got the NHL from NBC which no one expected. NASCAR needs TV partners that respect and can grow the sport because what they have currently isn't cutting it.

TBS is not bringing this tune back... They can count on Trevor Rabin (Both the NHL and NBA on TNT theme composer) to give us a dramatic and rousing orchestral classic.
