Oh wow, thanks this was pretty helpful. I have been thinking an academic package might be for me. But maybe not. I suppose if I can't read a lick of Greek, an academic package might not be for me. Do you have any thoughts for my situation? I think in the future I want to be able to look into the textual variants of certain passages, and am interested in the idea of having a lot of lexicon resources. But again, am afraid I won't be able to use any of these resources without having a pretty good grasp on Greek.

If you learn some basics of how to navigate a lexicon, you will probably be ok. You might be helped if you learn the greek alphabet so you navigate more easily. Honestly, I really prefer the feature set of the academic packages, so if you are committed to wrestling a little bit with the original languages, I think you will get great value here. Thanks for an interesting overview. If you update this for Logos 10, perhaps you could add the 5th academic package - Academic Basic. This is only available to students etc registered on the academic discount programme, but it's free and many of those looking at your video will be students without much money. Keep up the good work. Thinking about professional academic Logos 10. Want BDAG and at least some commentaries. However, ICC is pretty old. Can you do a video on Logos 10 Academic?

I included reviews of the academic base packages in each of my buying guides for L10. I believe they are scattered throughout the bronze, silver, and gold base package videos. Just select the one whose price is closest to the package you are interested in. Hope that helps.

@@PastorTanner you skim over it (pretty well done). Any chance you could go over the commentaries in the highest Academic Package? One of their main guys in their 65 volume commentaries (ICC) is/was a methodist and I haven't done enough research on him. Or do you know of someone who could do an in depth review of it? I'm a non denominational, I'd probably be fine with Standard Commentaries, but I want that Academic experience, alot of doctrinal differences come down to word studies, so I might as well have that skill (aspiring pastor/seminary student). I'd be down to zoom if you have the time. Lol

@@ChristianJames559 The question here is how open you are to critical commentaries. Many of the ICC volumes are written from and unbelieving perspective, or often from a source critical perspective. Also, many different authors penned these volumes over time. If this doesn't bother you, perhaps it would be good to pickup. Otherwise, you may want to pass.

@@ChristianJames559 This is not a commentary set that I typically reference for preaching purposes. For me, it is too academic for this purpose. However, for writing seminary papers, it is perfect.
