With Inkscape 1.2, at time 4:08 when you do Path > Stroke to Path it doesn't work, it does nothing. Thank you for the video. *FIX:* At the time of the video, instead of "Path > Stroke to Path" do "Path > Stroke to path" then "Ungroup" and "Path > Break Apart", now remove the pieces needed and go on with the tutorial. At the end when applying the "frost glass effect", adjust "Blur" and "Blend mode" to fine tune the effect.

Loving your videos! I have been wanting to learn more about graphic design as a whole for ages now and this has helped me both with the technical skills and understanding some of the underlying concepts. I really love the way you teach, specifically how you show us the finished product and then work towards it from scratch without shortcuts. You explain what you're doing and why you're doing it with each step which is brilliant! Please keep up the awesome videos and content!

To anyone experiencing problems when applying the frosted glass filter, I had to enlarge the text by a HUGE amount before I achieved the same effect as nick was getting. I assume it is because I am using a much lower resolution monitor, so I was working with less pixels. It’s fine once you have enlarged the text.

I'd like to see a liquid effect not as a glass port window into a tank/pool full of liquid but instead where the text itself is written atop a solid surface such as wood or stone (marble, soapstone, etc.) in dripped liquid such as water, virgin olive oil or honey/syrup. something like a puddle where you can see the light reflecting of surface behind the lettering distorted or displaced by the liquid. something that might have varied color or viscosity that would change how light reflects off it and shadows are cast from it. something found in Photoshop tutorials often but not so much in Gimp at least not with any high level of detail or artistic/technical production quality. I think I have a rough idea but the Photoshop versions incorporate features not found in GIMP AFAIK. I'm guessing it might look good in a thick cursive font.

I know i'm a bit late here but I'm working through it now and found this same issue! however i've worked out that if i bring the blue layer down (it already says it's a path) I just duplicated the green layer, centred it over the blue layer and did path>intersection and its given me the same result, not sure if thats totally correct as I'm just teaching myself this but yeah, thought i'd share in case you want to try again :)
