Today's tutorial will go over the method of isometric design -- presenting a 2D object as 3D by putting the subject at a 30 degree angle
This tutorial is for Inkscape version 0.48 and is intended to teach you how to use the software.

You're an excellent teacher. I especially appreciate the way you remind viewers of the simple things that can make learning so much easier (e.g., "hold ctrl and shift to size it up and down," "hold the mouse scroll key to. . . "). I'd love to see the process for creating some text for the lap top screen. Do you have a video that would address that?

I thought grid lines were useful before! Placing them on a 30 degree angle adds a whole new dimension! Great video!

Quick and effective. I'd never used the inbuilt grid before, I always built my own grids. Amazing what can be learnt after several years of DIY and invention, lol! Also never knew selecting 'b' opened the Bezier. Love that one. Cheers!

+Nadine White Haha it's amazing what can be learned even after several years of using the software. I just learned about the "B" thing recently myself, and quite often learn about new things from comments users leave.

I love that, have been training my brain to use 'b' - and also to use 't' when jumping in and out of text boxes after selecting them. Looking forward to those moments becoming automatic.

Can you make a video on how to draw vector isometric objects as seen looking from a steeper angle than the normal 45 degrees? That is using angle values other than 30 degree in axonometric grid? For example, how a cube would look like if seen at a slight angle from the front
@jay-tbl

I know inkscape isn't illustrator or Corel draw, it's buggy and somehow slow, but it does really good job for free. I'm not graphics designer but I'm using it everyday at my work for documentation diagrams and schematics.

at the laptop shadow. you use black then change the opacity. why not pick the color instead?
@macflav75
@macflav75 7 жыл бұрын
Piyasak Sreeroungthong If you used an opaque shade of grey, you wouldn't be able to see through the shadow if you used the image on top of a textured background, for instance.
