Oddly enough I had something similar in mind for a logo I'm working on for my own business. I am gonna change the colors and the shape a bit and add some text but this was a huge help since I need to save as much money as possible for what I need to do and once I get more established I can change it if need be.

Very creative form. I also manged to make something with myself in 2013, also on KZbin, video tutorial for Illustrator. Just type 3D logo! I think now that my video has just over 700,000 views. I am surprised because some people are now seeing for the first time. Luckily not violated the copyrights of authors! Please!

near the 14:38 mark, when you were talking about the space left over near the grey and blue... If you zoom in and click (possibly double click) you can adjust the edge of the shape i.e. pull a corner to the edge of the sphere without adjusting the entire shape itself. Hope thats clear :) (ver. 0.92.3)

This is great video, but in my opinion @9:44 was the best this shape will ever be, you could have ended there. The reason is, @9:44 the blue spherical ball was looking like it is in the center of the outer shell. Unlike the final image, which it looks behind the shell. Thanks for your video, it is awesome, "just like that" XD
