Pharrell William presented his first men's collection for Louis Vuitton at an unprecedented fashion show in Paris. Hundreds of stars from all horizons gathered on the oldest bridge in Paris, the Pont Neuf, covered for the occasion in the iconic Louis Vuitton checkerboard, but in gold. Beyoncé, Rihanna, Jay Z, A$ap Rocky, Zendaya, Lewis Hamilton, Kim Kardashian, Gims, Squeezie, Seb la Frite, Leonardo DiCaprio. Artistic directors from LVMH and beyond came to support Virgil Abloh's successor. Nicolas Ghesquières from Louis Vuitton women, Matthew M. Williams from Givenchy and Alyx, Jeremy Scott, Camille Miceli from Pucci, Jonathan Anderson, Nigo from Kenzo. What to wear to a Louis Vuitton fashion show? Film-loving TikTokeur Reece Feldman had to make a Cornelian choice between three outfits the night before the show, in his hotel room. His inspiration? Whatever makes him look the most like a tree. Genius. The extravagant Babani sisters take their inspiration from Pharrell Williams to style their outfits. Backstage, Pharrell Williams gives his family a hug before the show begins. And 3..2..1... Go! The lights come on. The choir begins to sing. The first model leaves. The collection includes a new pattern. A mix of checkerboard and camouflage, it's called damoflage. It was used on suits, jackets, shoes, bags, coffee cups, pushchairs, etc. As usual at Louis Vuitton, the bag collection is enormous. Pharrell Williams and the men's studio have collaborated with ET Artist on a limited edition of the Alma bag. Speedy is pushed to the limits of luxury, in a $1 million version - which the artistic director subsequently wore to several events. The shoeboxes became trunks with transparent fronts. Pharrell Williams salutes Virgil Abloh and the studio. A semi-improvised concert with Jay Z followed, with Pharrell haranguing the crowd: "You could be anywhere on the globe, but tonight you're with us in Paris"!

C’est quand même dingue de pouvoir fermer une partie du cœur de Paris pendant plusieurs heures pour un défilé. Il y a plein d’endroits possibles, mais le « toujours plus » mène forcément à ce genre de délire. Je trouve ça vraiment dommage, mais c’est assez symptomatique de deux mondes qui vivent prêt l’un de l’autre sans se mélanger. Que personne dans une telle organisation ne se soit soucié des citoyens ordinaires en dit long sur les rapports sociaux des riches/privilégiés faces aux citoyens plus ordinaires. J’adore ta chaîne, la mode, ses inspirations et ses excès, mais là pour moi c’est trop d’entre soi, je passe mon tour. Je regarderai la prochaine vidéo avec plaisir. ❤

Ce n'est pas de la mode, c'est de la politique populiste : feindre qu'on est avec le peuple mais en réalité accroître le mal-être des gens les plus populaires en associant l'idée de "happyyyyy" avec une cascade de richesse aussi outrancière que carricaturale, le message que veut faire passer leur marketing est simpliste : les gens heureux sont ceux qui peuvent se vautrer dans un luxe scandaleux....alors qu'en réalité, il n'en n'est rien de ces fantasmes (personne n'a une vie facile, pas même les riches, et personne n'est assuré contre le malheur), ce discours n'est construit que pour générer une réaction populaire... des révolutes qui ont déjà fait parler d'elles en France. La direction de LVMH en veut-elle à la France ? Oui. S'il fait bon vivre en France, c'est parce que la majorité des gens sont modérés, et non parce que les gens sont riches, car c'est loin d'être vrai partout. Les ultra-riches se sentent mal en France parce que ce pays n'est pas fait pour cela, ils trouvent leur place dans le tiers-monde où ils ne trouvent aucune résistance à ce qu'ils peuvent acheter : tout et tout le monde. LVMH doit-il changer de direction artistique ou faire ses malles? Le luxe à la française de toute façon ne correspond pas à ce vulgaire étalage de richesse, et ses revandications politiques extrêmes ne correspondent pas au modèle de société français qui est apprécié de tous.

Pharrell and Louis Vuitton have taken fashion to a very different and distinctive stage, the feeling that these clothes, bags and everything that was presented and created with Pharrell’s ideas elevates fashion to an unimaginable level. Some of the products seen on the collection remind me somewhat to some of the paintings made by Van Gogh who was another revolutionary genius. Congratulations to Pharrell and all of the people who collaborated and that made this form of ART a reality.
