Loose Watercolour Sky Practice, Paint a Simple Hake Brush Seascape, 1 Sky A Day Landscape Tutorial

For the past 3 years or so, I try to paint at least once a day, and always at least one sky which I think really has helped me to make some progress with my painting. I use various colours and brushes as mentioned in the demo, but please feel free to use whatever colours and brushes you like and are comfortable with if you try something similar.
My board is at an angle of about 45-60 degrees.

I finally understand learning from my mistakes in watercolors! I don't get frustrated as much when I mess up a painting that was going rather well. Now I look at my mistakes as a learning tool rather than I messed up. Thankyou! You are a wonderful teacher with a calm soothing voice.

I absolutely love everything you so...I can't get enough!! I believe I heard you say, on another video, that you've only been painting for 3 yrs? Might be 4 now as I think it was older then this one...but regardless, that's amazing! I started teaching myself to draw and paint in my early-mid 40's to help deal with chronicsevere pain...now I'm in my late, the latest 40😆😊 but no where near anything you do!! My health issues keep me from practicing very often, but still... but, it is something I love when I can. But when I can't, which is most of the time now, I appreciate SO much being able to watch you to stay excited and inspired, and to just enjoy your calm, easy to listen to voice with your positive outlook! Helps me so much!!! Those hake brushes are on my wishlist for sure!! Those and good paper. ;) one day :) Thanks again for all the work you put in! It's truly appreciated!!

Excellent painting. Very well done. Please allow me to make a suggestion. In addition to white chalk you might consider having on hand a yellow ochre and a Naples yellow stick. They do wonders to tone down the white of the gouache. Sometimes I also use a Naples Yellow gouache. 😱🤗🤗🤗

Thanks, I fix the pastel with a quick spray of hairspray which works the same way as fixative, but much cheaper

I usually find Prussian blue so overwhelming that I avoid using it. I'll have to try adding the rest of my palette to it.

Try Pro White by Daler-Rowney its a white gouache. Works really well
