This kiln unloading had some mugs, cups, bowls and vase in Lavaflek.
But the piece I’m most proud of was the stoneware two part pot that I glazed in 3 x Iron Lustre, 2 x Blue Rutile and 1 x Smokey Merlot with thick oatmeal over. Stunning piece.

They are all wonderful....but the last piece = the vase with the Iron Luster/Blue Rutile/Smoky Merlot is SPECTACULAR! Great Job...Thanks!

Hi Lois, I love the mannequin in the background! LOL The platter is fabulous. Maybe thicker would solve the cracking problem. And I really like the green inside the bowl. It doesn't compete with the design on the outside. Congrats on that two-part vase! It turned out beautiful! And thank you for sharing your glaze techniques. You've helped me a lot, and I appreciate it!

Thankyou so so much for your kind words. Debbie the mannequin. We saved that from a skip 20 years ago plus. We used to have a workshop where we made vivariums for the reptile industry.

Your 2 pt. pot is amazing!!! I'd love to see you glaze that one. I have a vase with holes that I've been trying to figure out glaze for it. I was leaning towards a b/w with Palladium at the top 2/3's but I really love how the rutile turned out for you. I have it and have never used it yet. But I'm still visualizing b/w with white inside peeping through the hole edges. I have a hard time bringing glazes together visually and achieving the results!!!😅😅😅😊

The pot is video 99 so you can watch how I glazed it. Palladium over white is one of my favourite combinations. It has a lovely feather that occurs. Thanks for watching.

Why is there a naked woman sitting in the corner? 😂😂😂 I know - she’s the kiln goddess - lovely work Louise, plaque is gorgeous and will look lovely mended with Kintsugi. 😃

So I tried the gold but it didn’t look great so used black acrylic and then shoe polish to dull it down. Will show at a later video.

Lois--- I don't find the interior green very pleasing and rather a distraction to an otherwise beautiful piece. Is it the same Art Deco Green as the exterior which reads blue? If not, a soft blue---Norse Blue or diluted Cerulean 3:1, creates a soft calm effect. Brick red on the inside---nah, too much.

I’m just doing this on two mugs and I’ve used that in the inside. I agree I hate the green it’s too much. I will have a play with your ideas.
