A long long time ago, me and my sister discovered this silly finnish song. As our usual custom dictated, we proceeded to learn the lyrics by heart and sang it together a lot.
But only now, that I decided to make a silly cover, it clicked in my head that the background vocals actually spell pol-ka pol-ka pol-ka. Never realized it before. :D
It was also one of my simplest and fastest projects. I recorded 6 vocal lines, 2 guitar tracks and some simple percussion. It was all finished and edited in a day and half. And I shot the video in front of my brand new wall painting in my room that I painted myself, as a form of psychohygiene after my uni finals. :)
(before anyone asks, no, I won't paint the wall in your room. I don't want to see any paintbrushes for at least a year :D)

One that pops into my head most often is the sone 'Red Baloons' Origanally a German song then translated to english. I'm told she never really knew what she was saying just what she was supposed to say. Not to be that guy but Finnish i would say is the easiest language to read. Its very literal and you pronounce every letter. Slavs and Nords may have a lot easier to pronounce the letters tho.

As a native German I can speak (but not understand) it quite well, Finns pronounce like we do. Y =Ü / H = CH... the rest is alike. We use Ä+Ö as well.

I had a student´s exchange once long time ago in 2002 with Finnland. It was wonderfull with the forrest and the lakes (we have it here in Bavaria, too, but totally different). Swimming arround mountains peaks. But nobody sang so sweet to us.

Not in my case. Got interested in Finnish when watching a silly video by Children of Bodom (and they're speaking between themselves in Finnish, of course), in 2005. But quite soon somebody presented me also this song, though at the time I couldn't understand it, I doubt at all, considering that I was a real beginner and this is also in a dialect.
