FYI the color white or bone are two of the best colors to throw in muddy water specially if it has a little bit of chartreuse on it, but even if it doesn't.. white and Bone sticks out really well and muddy water to fish.

Bass will usually smack the lure before actually biting it. They do that with actual prey to stun their prey then turn around and eat. So if you ever get a "short strike" just stop your lure for a couple seconds then start retrieving it again.

I use whopper ploppers and other topwater ALL the time when May hits. Where I am in Colorado has A LOT of smallmouth that just wreck topwater baits. I bought some knock-off whoppers to try the type of lure and had awesome luck, but the lures broke. This is why I get the real Whoppers; better build quality than the....ehem..imported ones. I ordered 3 Revolvers(sexy shad, shattered shad, and silver flash) while watching this. I find it neat the prop is ahead of the hooks, rather than behind sort of being drug through the water.
