Oak trees are resilient and will eventually come back to life. You might have to cut back the branches to reset itself. You might have disturbed the roots and it can no longer sustain the huge growth. Or the roots are water logged. But if you cut it back big time it will grow to a respectable size to the roots it is able to establish in that location.

I was going to suggest the same thing don’t cut it down yet give it time. Trees/plants feel change too ,the same way you shocked the pond the tree was shocked after everything was done. Definitely finitely cut back some and it should come back. ❤🤞

So way not rent or hire someone with a small excavator and repair Darrell's dam and put in a over spill pipe so if the water gets too high and if possible in a couple areas dig deep areas for fish to go in when the weather is bad like to hot or to cold and by fixing the dam it will help the wildlife

Here in Illinois it’s been the complete opposite. We haven’t had rain since Helene hit the Carolinas and we have a backyard pond and it’s abt 3-4 off of the bank where it’s not supposed to be

Seeing that oak tree the second time it didn't look so bad. Might of crushed or clipped a main root. Or the heavy machinery compacted the soil too much. Would need some aeration to the soil. I'd have to get a better close up look at the branches see what's dying vs new growth.

You really missed your opportunity to completely restart the pond. Should've rotenoned it and killed everything to start new. You're gonna spend 10x trying to stock baitfish for those overcrowded bass. I just did that to my 5 ac lake this year. Bluegill went from 1 inch to 7.5+ inches and bass were 2 inch on July 1 and they're almost 11 inches now.

Bro next time you go to the giant spillway get you a few of those bluegill and keep them alive and will get on some bigger catfish and with the live bluegill you have a good chance of getting on some monster flathead cat. Just make sure it’s legal there too use them for live bait

Electro shocking only goes about 6 feet. Mabe up to 10 feet sometimes depending on the equipment used. So any fish deeper than that. It won't get. And at the end of the year. Most fish are deeper. When the fish all move up shallow at the end of spring is prolly the best time to shock
