Wow this is quite a thing you’ve made!! 👏👏 Mindblowing.

Personally, I think the physical book copy (or pdf) is the better experience, especially considering the splash page and hidden puzzles as well as the fact that the digital version provides a visual for the words which spoils some aspects of the puzzle solving process. The learning process is more natural in the book and I love that part of it, which is sadly a part that’s difficult to translate into the digital version.

the steam page mentions they are planning some "paper transcending" twists so maybe that will make up for it, but yeah. there is something nice about it being more approachable for people unfamiliar with paper puzzles, due to not having the rule discovery, but I was also hoping it would be somewhat more faithful to the book than it was :p

Oh man thanks a lot for playing our little game!! It might be a bit disappointing for people who already played the book and know the rules already or miss some of the rules discovery that's so hard to adapt to digital but we're thinking on it, and also we hope the new mechanics and content will make up for it!
@mushykitten Жыл бұрын
I know people have already said it's missing some of the Learning Process but it's not just a general thing, it's specifically the fact that the only way to learn what the rules are is thinking what Must be true in order for the puzzle to have a solution. it's like you're inventing the mechanics. that, specifically, is what I'm missing. Especially with keywords like BE which just forces you to laugh. like the LEAST powerful thing you can do is give yourself the power to CHOOSE ANY LETTER and arriving at that conclusion looks way more satisfying than the letter menu just popping up (idk, haven't played the digital)

Finished this game on the PDF a while back (except for the puzzle on the very first page which seemed too menacing for me lol). One of the main charms of the game (for me at least) was the idea of rule discovery without any feedback, but this adaptation doesn't really line up with that. For an example, click the read more (spoilers for this video). There also seems to be a lack of impossible puzzles used to learn mechanics in the adaptation, which kinda sucks. When learning how TA works in the book, you need to go between the first few puzzles to fully understand what it does. In fact, when I played it, I distinctly remember thinking it was called AT instead until I realised that TA makes more sense. In this adaptation, however, all you need to do is go to 3-2 and try TA on random tiles until you realise what it does.

I quickly downloaded and finished the game before you pressed play, AMAZING GAME! I printed the PDF so I could play the rest, still not done that.

Since TA is the first keyword you learn totally on your own, the book doesn't point it out by name. and so it doesn't prescribe whether it's TA or AT, and in principle it could be either lmao

Lok and Alephant have really unusual design choices. Why do the Lok look like floating mannequin heads and why do they all ram headfirst into the tiles to color them black. How relevant are the keywords and their meaning in the Slovenian language? Does the meaning of Tlak have anything to do with two?
