Lok Sabha Elections 2024 | Battle For Trivandrum: Shashi Tharoor & Rajeev Chandrasekhar Exclusive

Sitting Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor is locked in a tough, three-way battle with the BJP and CPI as he seeks re-election for a fourth term from the seat. In an exclusive conversation with CNN-News18, Tharoor criticised Prime Minister Modi for his recent remarks on 'wealth redistribution', calling it blatantly communal. Calling the speech polarising and unbecoming of a Prime Minister, Tharoor clarified that Congress has made no mention of redistributing wealth to Muslims in their manifesto.
On the other hand, Chandrasekhar has had a successful stint as the Minister of State for IT and Skill Development since July 2021. He has a convincing grip on the corporate sector. In a personal capacity, Chandrasekhar has been a technology entrepreneur engaged in the semiconductor manufacturing sector.

I'm from tvm and we're fedup with this guy he just give some highmass light nothing else and we need development this is 3rd time we're electing this useless person we need change I've voted 4 Rajeev whether he win or not I don't care but shashi should lose its a protest against a mp who had done nothing to this City(just look other MPs from cochin and kollam they work hard and bringing development to their respective constituency )

I do not know who will win but Dr. Saroor has won the perception battle. He is too suave and eloquent for Rajeev Chandrashekhar. Not only has has Dr. Saroor managed to cut though his opponent by first saying Rajeev Chandrashekhar has been 4 time RS MP and minister but has nothing to show for it except the increase in his personal wealth but also very smartly said that fight is between him and CPIM. Also on an ideological level he has been able to articulate the stand of Congress party far better than Mr. Chandrashekar. Rajeev Chandrashekhar for all his credentials looks a bit lost in this battle. Not only does he have not much to say on his own credentials but even defending his party he seems to be struggling. I mean just look at ease Dr. Saroor is with all the female journalists. He is drinking coffee with somebody, having lunch with somebody, travelling in car with somebody. His communication skills are far better. In fact he was the only candidate whom I saw and heard who was actually able to list out the work he has done for his constituency as MP. Rajeev Chandrashekhar may say he is only talking about schemes of Modi. govt. but ultimately an MP can only work with govt. schemes. He can't create any scheme of his own. Whether he actually did something or not but he his communication skills and display of intent is much better. But BJP is trying. Their only hope for the moment is PM Modi and the huge star power they seem to have gathered from PT Usha to Shobana to Anju George to Suresh Gopi to sort of endorse the party. But even last time they had metro man E Sreedharan against Dr. Saroor but he could not win.
