Odin said "Only one of you can ascend to the throne. But both of you were born to be kings." Loki was always being small minded, thinking he had to take over Earth. It finally dawned on him, that his kingdom was time itself.

Funny how it turned out, Thor gave up his throne for freedom, Loki sacrifices his freedom for a throne he didn't want.

What a journey! Loki goes full circle...all the way back to Avengers and finds his "Glorious Purpose." He's sitting on a throne but far from the type of throne he he was always after. Tom Hiddleston is amazing! This show proves that great writing and production with a commitment to story, character development and true creativity, still exists!! More please! Thank you all for joining us on this journey. We had a blast!

Couldn't agree more. I spent most of this episode literally on the edge of my seat. Every single aspect of film making was firing on all cylinders this season. I still haven't processed all the different things that have come full circle. I may have been one of the few who hated Loki as a character but these 6 episodes have put me on team Loki and his tragic, victorious Glorious Purpose. Absolutely incredible. Love you guys and my favorite moment this reaction was Grandma Smols asking, "what's an Easter Egg?" You guys are great!

I love everything in the MCU, but this was definitely some of their best work. Gonna miss Loki. Crazy thinking we've had this character for 12 years! Great conclusion for him. 🙂 Kinda sad that the one thing he said he wanted was to not be alone. It also hurt to not see "Loki will return" in the credits. Edit: Your son talks?!? Great to see him getting more comfortable doing the reactions!

The tree is probably the World Tree, Yggdrasil, from Norse mythology. The end also seems to be an homage to the Loki God of Stories arc from the comics. I hope these MCU shows and movies inspire people to read some of the stories in the comics. It can seem a little daunting with decades of stories for some of these characters, but you can read specific arcs without knowing every single thing from years of backstory.

I'm personally glad there was no end-credit. It was really nice having a show that focused on Loki's story and only Loki's story without trying to set up the next MCU thing. Also, this was an incredible adaptation of his God of Stories arc from the comics. I strongly recommend reading Loki: Agent of Asgard if you haven't yet.

I love this ending even though it's very bittersweet. Loki's Glorious Purpose has finally come by sacrificing himself to destroy the Temporal Loom from destroying everything except the Sacred Timeline with Loki replacing the Loom becoming the God of Stories. When Loki locks Mobius and Sylvie out and tearfully says goodbye to them, he says the same last words he said to Odin right before falling off the Bifrost Bridge and seemingly dying: “I could have done it, father. For you! For all of us!”. Loki's purpose is a glorious one, but the burden is completely heavy, where he is completely alone, unable to be with his loved ones ever again. Still Loki gets to watch over them from countless timelines on a throne at the end of time. No subjects to rule over, no family, no friends. Just him. His god attire isn't fancy, no gold trimmings, as it emphasizes the "burden" he places on himself.

Once Loki wove all the timelines into the Tree, he probably did not have to hold them together. The Tree should be a stable yet organically growing structure. He is sitting in the middle of it but can probably send his Avatar into any timeline. Or maybe he can free some of his variants stuck in the void such as Kid Loki or Alligator Loki. Right now, his mind is probably blown away by the billions of lives crawling past his view. The joys and the tragedies. The profound and the stupid. The good and the ugly. The glorious and the mundane. It must be quite a theater. Perhaps he'll take a couple of ...centuries? or days to just soak and take it in.

When you have a difficulty climb before you, you need to have good, well loved pair of shoes. Loki knew this was the most difficult climb he would ever take, and that he wouldn't walk after that. Obviously he chose footwear he could tolerate for all time, always.

The line loki says before he steps out into the radiation, is his own words he was asked to choose what he would say. Only he and the producers knew what he would say, his line comes from one of the thor movies where his dad is trying to help him and thor back onto the bifrost and loki says I could have been great for all of us and then let's go.

This is INARGUABLY some of the best writing in the MCU and it's all thanks to Marvel keeping the same directors/writers collaborating together and working congruently. THIS should be the model of the creative direction moving forward...especially after how lacking this phase has been so far. I need Eric Martin and Kevin Wright to come back for Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars. Those two films have to be done so intricately.

Love your reaction videos. What an emotional rollercoaster. Fitting bookend to the series. What a journey for the character since Thor 1. He sacrificed everything to give his friends and everyone free will and the chance to live and prevent war. He could have made the "easy" choice (HWR's sacred timeline path) but he persevered for centuries, maybe millennia, and was determined to find another way to save everyone. Episode 5 showed us Loki didn't want to be alone. The finale is bittersweet because Loki saves everyone at the cost of his ability to be with his friends. Mobius got to see what life he had before the TVA but will make his own path. That tree Loki creates is Yggdrasil, the world tree from Norse mythology. Ending on that last scene was perfect. An end credits scene would have taken away the impact.

@Smols Family Reactions, 10:26 we did, actually, right here 7:57. 17:55 This moment is Sylvie's Nexus Event, the reason why she was pruned as a little girl. This will make sense later on when Mobius tells his story as a hunter in just a few minutes. 18:46 this story, right here. The TVA was doing some minority report type pruning, and Ravonna went back to prune Sylvie before she could kill HWR. But as freewill doesn't exist at this point in the MCU--much of phase four was teaching us this and we watched it play out in this series as well as What If?, No Way Home, Multiverse of Madness as well as the Spider-Verse movies. No matter the universe in the Multiverse you're looking variants of the same time in every universe have a shared story--remember the Lokis sharing the Nexus Events during the season one penultimate story? Even though we didn't see them, we all knew what they were talking about because they were stories we either saw or heard about in the MCU. All of the Peters in No Way Home lived a shared experience like all of the Spider-Man variants in the Spider-Verse movies. Universe in the Multiverse rhyme. Sylvie was always going to kill HWR and bring ruin to everyone everywhere because she's destined to do so--Loki was designed to lose to bring out the best in the Avengers. Sylvie was designed to lose to bring out the best in Loki, well, not just Sylvie, though she's a key factor. Loki can't bear to be without his friends, all of them. 21:27 What HWR's couldn't. HWR had the same problem Loki had, and try as he did, he could never save more than he did, which were the roots of the multiverse, the very thing he consolidated and called the Sacred Timeline. To protect all that he could save, HWR created the TVA and the loom, and we just learned that the loom was a failsafe to kick in the moment the TVA couldn't do what it was tasked to do, which was stop branches from forming, as branches always lead to the end of everything. HWR is just a man, flesh and blood, remember? He could never do what Loki's doing, and that makes me wonder if he chose Loki for this reason. Many online believe HWR/Kang is going to be the big bad because he's evil, because the comics have deemed it so--the MCU has always been its own thing. HWR cared about time so much that he erased the problem that ruined time the first time, his variants and then he removed himself from time. He did what he could to give every variant on the Sacred Timeline the best life he could give them, and he didn't stop there, all of the people working at the TVA are variants from Branched Timelines, so while he had to destroy their universes, he did what he could to give them a life, and that life was policing the Sacred Timeline so that others could live. Was it fair? I'll leave that to others to judge, but he did the best he could with what he had. And now Loki's taking his swing at it, and as he's a god, he can do more. Loki has ascended to the God of Stories, and he's already changed the story of season one and even this one to show us his power. 21:39 The loom protected the Sacred Timeline, and that's what Loki destroyed. The Sacred Timeline is no more. The Sacred Timeline and the Branched Timelines are all set free, and are dying in this moment. 23:02 Loki took the roots and branches and made a tree! The Life Tree we saw on Asgard, but on a much grander scale. Wow! 23:57 without a doubt! Victor debuted in Quantumania along with the council of Kangs--that movie precedes this story. HWR already confirmed in this episode that his variants are here, and despite what Mobius just said, the TVA is unaware of their meeting. The council has found a TVA blind spot, how long will it take for them to find them? 24:36 Loki's already rewriting his friends' stories. OB actually gets to see the publication of one of his books. This new book was needed, as the TVA isn't the one it once, info on pruning branches and the loom is obsolete info. 24:47 Loki reset Victor, returning to the innocent boy he was before Ravonna and Miss Minutes set him down a path he wasn't even supposed to be on. 24:57 Ravonna wakes up in the void, alone, well, she does have the old TVA flooring with her. The old TVA is out, and it sounds like Alioth is back online too. Yikes. Did you notice D90 isn't here? Loki gave him another chance, and you'll see him shortly in the war room. 25:33 Loki rewrote Mobius' story too. The garage door is open and we see just one personal watercraft. Mobius and his boys are happy, not the broken family we saw earlier. Loki gave him a happy ending, and now it's up to Mobius to decided to experience the good life he was afraid to learn that he might have had or go back to the TVA and fight to protect it. Either way, Loki will respect his choice. 25:46 Loki rewrote Sylvie's story too. She's free to live out her life as she pleases. 26:15 Behold, the God of Stories and the birth of freewill. This has got to make you wonder what else did Loki change? Did he bring back Phil Coulson? Surely he regrets what he did to him. What about his mother Frigga? He didn't mean for her to die. Bringing either one of them back changes phases 2 up to this point. If Coulson lived Maria might not have died in Secret Invasion, Talos and Soren might not have died either. If Frigga was killed Odin would still be alive today, and Hela never would have brought about Ragnarok. Thanos would also have had to continue doing things the old fashioned way, as he wouldn't have been a match for Odin and the Odin Force without all of the Infinity Stones, something he didn't have when he came for Asgard at the end of Ragnarok--Heimadall would have seen him coming and he would have prepared the troops before Thanos got his first stone. What will Loki do with this new power. What will the MCU do? Loki is a do over that could undo various parts of Phase Four the Internet didn't like. Crazy. What an epic end to Loki if that's what this is. I hope not, but if it is, I can respect it. I hope Thor gets an epic send off like this when his time comes, which I hope isn't soon. I want Thor and Loki to see each other one last time.

We will have to wait to be able to see what he's capable of. He might be able to get up later and replace with a clone of himself with magic. Also, yeah this is the Endgame Loki, but remember that he isn't the same Loki, he did live the life of the other one we knew, but just until the first Avengers, he wasn't around Infinity War timeline, he's from the another Universe/Timeline the OG Avengers jumped to, to fix the snap so... He had the chance to redeem himself, but the Loki we knew died by the hands of Thanos.

If I were Loki and had to sit for all eternity holding all those strands, I probably would have taken off those horns and make myself as light as possible, LOL! Also, what is the temperature out there for him or is that what the "perfect" room temperature is? Thor would be so proud of his bro! I too am curious what happens to Mobius. He cannot replace the "other" Mobius. Will Sylvie just go back to working at McDonald's? Also, how does this, if at all, affect the other MCU shows and movies? He Who Remains did mention his other variants were already all out there, so will all the other MCU content be occurring long before this show's season 2 final and during the centuries it took Loki to learn how to "fix' the loom from O.B. or is everything okay and nothing's really changed in the MCU because Loki is holding all the strands or branches? Loki can duplicate himself, right? Can those duplicates of him hold those branches for him? LOL!
