I purchased this on Jan 2023. I put it away for awhile...a long while, being that it's now Jan 2025! I think I did because I use shotgun mics on my cameras. I got the Boya mini mics a few days ago. I'm still tweaking & messing with that on my phone, but I'm not exactly thrilled with them...yet. So I pulled out my Aiklea mics, charged them up. Could NOT get them to connect with my Samsung Android phone. After several attempts, I realized that I needed to use the provided TRRS cable, which leaves the receiver dangling...not so crazy about that, but at least I figured it out. The C connection is useless on my phone as well. The phone camera can't recognize it. It does work on my DJI Osmo Action cameras though. Thank you for the other features. 👍 You did a good job of explaining this! 😊

Thank you so much for the in depth review on the features of the microphone. Even the manual doesn't explain the noise cancellation as much. To my knowledge as well no other reviewer has talked about it.

Mine doesnt work!! I plug it in and it doesnt work at all, help me please ❤ Update: take off ur phone case then try it!!! Worked for me! It seemed like it was all the way in but the case was preventing it from working! Hope this helped

Your review is the best one I've found so far for this microphone, so thank you for making this! Unfortunately, other reviews don't even cover the noise cancellation feature or they hadn't figured out how to stop it the way you did. I'm very tempted by this mic to get back into youtube vids, mostly because I don't want to sync audio/video in post as much anymore even though I'd be sacrificing some quality. Anyway, thank you for such a comprehensive review!

I've actually been looking at these recently - I've had Rode Go's and all - but they are a bit clunky (especially having to run an extended lapel). For the price - these sound really solid. Great review btw man. Got a sub from me.

I have this and love it. btw the volume up / down is the sound level on the monitoring not the recording level. However, i do not have such a difference in the voice quality regardless of noise reduction. The noiise is signifigantly reduced but i don't have the huge difference in the sound of the voice. Thanks!

Hi, can you reduce that sensitivity so never goes to red zone? On high pitch voice it adds alot of distorsion from what i hear.

Thanks for your review. I have this microphone and had missed the filter functions. However, my microphone does cause a whine on my camera (Panasonic G7) but is crystal clear on my Android phone. Any thoughts on this for troubleshooting would be appreciated.

Does it save settings so it stays in whatever noise cancelling and gain level it was last? My guess is that best settings will be low gain, get the mic as close as possible to your mouth clipped to clothing without clipping the audio level, and noise cancelling off. But if I have to remember to set that every time, it would be very annoying

Nice review! I bought a similar low priced lapel mic and haven't been satisfied with the sound quality... This one you demo'd sounds about the same but mine doesn't have the noise reduction feature (doesn't seem like that "feature" is usable anyway) I think I'll keep looking and will probably just need to pony up the $$ for something around $200-300. I'll be shopping on Black Friday for sure. BTW your affiliate link to your "Favorite Camera of all time" is broken. Hard to earn commissions that way! 😅

I am seeing a lot of intrinsic noise (not ambient/environment noise, but noise produced by the the mic system itself) in my microphone set, when noise reduction is turned off. This video doesn't seem to show the same problem, which makes me think I may just have a bad set. Are you using any post processing noise reduction?

I just got mine in the mail and couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working with my phone. It was on too, but I found out my phone case kept it from plugging in all the way. So if anyone has that issue just try to remove you case, it sucks.

I do not like the little lapel clip. Too small as can be seen when you attached it to your shirt. Otherwise for the money it works good.
