Firstly the context of Elosanta saying "What could I possibly gain from being your friend?" was that he argued that at first he was friendly towards Dantes for no reasons besides thinking he was funny. Meaning the exact opposite of what it seems like here, namely that Elosanta had no ulterior motive befriending Dantes which Dantes accused him of. Secondly Elosanta told Dantes from the beginning that his GF was a hoe, but he wouldn't listen and even posted some pretty cheesy photos and tweets effectively doubling down. Then when she cheated on Dantes Elosanta lost his mind because of how foreseeable this outcome was and how ignorant Dantes was to the reality of his relationship. It is true that noone could wish such an aweful situation for Dantes, however it is also true that he was an idiot and a victim to his own naivity and this in turn makes it a bit funny if you are cynical. Maybe Elosanta went overboard with the "I told you so", but this is nothing he should have been defamed for.
