Note: Only real counter is Irelia (Naayil bans her every game), Fiora is an hard match up and facing her on a side-lane after she got 2 items is hard, but it's definitely a playable match-up since more than half of his games are against her. The important thing is to dodge her W with a Q-E sideway instead of forward/backward

Yes you are very right, irelia is much harder than fiora matchup because even if you dodge her E and do stuff right she still can kill you easily.

Well as fiora player i can say thay good fiora knows to not use W if Aatrox didnt use E. Simple as that. Its very skillful matchup and the person who gets lead first is winning hard and can stomp the lane. Its kinda disgusting because 1 mistake cost you game. Also aatrox needs tabi before completing first item. I cant ofc write all details of this matchup in one comment but good fiora shouldnt have any problems against good aatrox.

Nobody talking about Kled? The only reason it's not his perma ban is Kled playrate, i would pick irelia or fiora everyday instead of Kled, but the same as him, i always either ban fiora or irelia cause it's way more likely to be seen. However, this MU might the worst experience of counter match up i ever experienced in LoL, it's crazy how impossible it is to win against him. you can't outpush him as you have no right to cs early game, and once he has cleave it's over, you can't outroam him as his ult will allow him to crash the wave and be there in time, and winning a 1v1 is really hard since he can force an engage whenever he wants, can easily dodge your sweet spot and get out of your W, and since he naturally outdps you, you can't hold 3rd Q for when he is dismounted, so you end up with nothing left to kill him and he often get to remount for free.

what I love bou Naayil is in his builds he always adjust like if enemy toplaner does good amount of true dmg, eclipse is the mythic to go, duskblade for pure dmg, frostborn for heavy AD, the dude if I'm correct is the one who first used evenshroud on Aatrox.... man's a genius

He does evenshroud when he knows he's getting focused a lot, which was happening a lot when he was climbing in EU since he was so well known. Since the mythic passive gives him a lot of passive resistances, he ends up very tanky even when building more damage focused. An Evenshroud's CC-damage boost also means he's still doing a ton of damage since it amps his own damage as well.

500K Aatrox main here. A note that weren't in the video for those looking to pick him up! :) - Aatrox E dash is extended if you're using it to go over a wall (see what Naayil does at 3:00 ). This is great for catching enemies by surprise.

Learned something new about E in front of minions to W. Something to add, he autos a lot in the early levels also because aatrox Qs dont hurt much early especially before level 5 and 7, it also reduce passive aa cd, which is great to close out the trade or try for a desperate heal. The E W Q combo is also a range factor, if he is closer he will opt for Q E W Corner Q2, which leads to a Q3 if the chain pulls, rather than just a Q2 from the E W Q combo, but it does require aatrox being slightly closer. Some players compensate for the range by using R after W to catch up for corner Q2, but Naayil doesnt do it that often

The Q E W > corner Q2 is a guaranteed Q3 as long as the enemy doesn't flash or dash out. If they try to dodge to the side, they get hit by the W and then get pulled into Q3. If they run towards Aatrox, he still hits them with the normal damage and still follows up with Q3. If they run away from Aatrox they don't have enough time to get away from him and they get pulled into the Q3.

I’ve been watching Naayil ever since he came to KZbin, and let me tell you he’s been dominating with Aatrox even at he’s very lowest, he never gave up and he always managed to Win with him, and he’s a freaking chef always cooking up new Builds THAT ALWAYS WORKS. When i heard that the Buffs where coming i knew it was going to be a Big Mistake, yes Aatrox was shit for the longest time and he deserved some buffs but the problem with Champions like this quite similar to Azir is when an OTP gets this buffs it just gets out of hand 😂

irc Hash explained at some point that recent Aatrox changes are adjustments at worst because his buffed scaling starts to outscale flat dmg nerf at lvl 9+, making buffed gap more apparent with Aatrox's mostly ad builds as game progresses

The nerf meant that doesnt happen anymore, he needs 200 ad to break even with the pre change q damage. Hash was talking about the numbers with the initial buff which had 20% extra ad ratio. Now its 10%. Hes weaker than he was before his buff at mythic purchase.

I think a good reason for why Naayil has been climbing so well is because most junglers in kr seem like they are more about fighting, so less of them are afk like normal EU or NA junglers and more of them are watching the map for enemy jungle trying to make plays. So he gets a lot more room to actually play the game.

2 techniques not thoroughly explained here that naayil talks about and often uses but no one else does; first is the increased ranged of Q2 by casting it diagonally, aiming to hit with the corners instead of the arch shaped front second is when against fiora, he's never afraid to E-Q because he uses his E diagonal as well to make fiora's W whiff on purpose to set up the next fight when his cd's are up

naayil has grinded aatrox on every meta, with almost every build imaginable. (have yet to see him go guinsoo's + bork for passive abuse, a build that I've only conceived in my most whacky dreams), so yeah, no matter if riot makes aatrox have zero dmg against champs, he has 2 crucial things. wich are, UTILITY, and HUGE outplay potential, and naayil uses those at his advantage even when aatrox is considered a trollpick, so yeah, I've always been a fan of underdogs like naayil who're not busy being a metawhore and thinking they're the best player in the world(hi Tfblaby) Naayil has hardcore earned every bit of lp he's gained in korea.

For those saying Kled is a counter, it’s not entirely true. Aatrox has all the disengage tools he needs to kite out kled if he gets on top of him, and even though kled has grievous on his Q it’s still more of a skill matchup than a hard counter. Early levels can be rough but that’s aatrox for almost every matchup until lvl 4

There is another Mythic that is quite decent, Stridebreaker gives you a ton of utility,health,dmg and as. I think it might be a good item if you are against high mobility champions that aren't ad(true dmg or ap), of course if you are against a team with a lot of ad champions iceborn is better. The only item that I don't think is worth trying is goredrinker, it gives you tankiness true, but Aatrox isn't really a champion that can use it properly imo. So to make it short Duskblade and iceborn, well explained nothing to say, stridebreaker against high mobility champion with no ad and I would say Eclipse is good against high true dmg champions. Of course if the person who is reading this is not according with me, let me know and we can discuss so we all may learn a bit more
