Loleta is now a beautiful recreation area maintained by the National Forest Service and built with the assistance of the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. It is located in Northwest Pennsylvania in the Allegheny National Forest It is 6 miles south of Marienville but is located in Elk County. It started out as a bustling lumber camp at the turn of the century (1898 to 1913). The video covers how the savage logging practices of the day left the landscape barren. It talks about how the National Forest rescued the forests. It also talks about the visionary leaders who lead this miraculous recovery.
