Awful Their version without Bernard so much better Might have been a good idea to plug in Barnie’s mic; just saying 🤷‍♂️
@lavielemond

Agreed 100% re: your initial 2 lines but don't you mean "unplug Barney's mic", rather than "plug in", seeing as though he sounded so utterly shite here?! The section at about 2:55 is the most cringeworthy here, almost as though it's being sung by a very drunk karaoke dude at a pub who doesn't know the lyrics to the song, rather than one of the members of the legendary band that initially wrote & played the freaking thing...anyway, unplugging Barney here (much like Depeche Mode were often rumoured to do with Andy Fletcher's (RIP) keyboards & vocals, seeing as though he was little more than their glorified accountant) would've been best for everybody concerned, especially the the poor audience, who actually paid money to see & hear that utter sham!! And I genuinely feel sorry for the well-meaning Brandon here, being the JD/NO über-fan that he is & how proud he was to have Barney there (well, before the song began, at least!), as well as the rest of the members of The Killers... It's a fookin' disgraceful effort by Barney here & when you combine this with his ever-increasing 'dorky Dad dancing' & paunch over the past 15-20 years, & IMO he should have retired altogether, rather than screwing Hooky over, with the help of the utterly spineless cowards, Stephen & Gillian...Barney's just becoming more & more of a satire of his former self as a member of Joy Division, New Order & Electronic...I'd have included Bad Lieutenant with those bands but I've always detested that far more recent side-project 'band' as well...& I always laugh when I see Wikipedia refer to Bad Lieutenant as a "supergroup", of the likes of Electronic (which REALLY WAS a supergroup, with the likes of a peak-level late-80s/early-90s Barney, as well as the amazingly evergreen & über-cool Johnny Marr, from The Smiths & the ever-adorable Neil & Chris, from the Pet Shop Boys & even some occasional input from former Kraftwerk member, Karl Bartos), when Bad Lieutenant's sole permanent members were the aforementioned fat & dorky '00s version of Barney, Phil 'the fucking ginger twat' Cunningham (the first of two members - the latter one was Tom Chapman, btw - of New Order to be added to the shitty post-Hooky band, each of whom were intended to replace the legendary Hooky) & some virtual unknown named Jake Evans...How can THAT possibly be referred to as a "supergroup", FFS?!?! OK, my sincere apologies for this unintended & über-verbose & COMPLETELY off-tangent rant, my friend!! All because I saw that you wrote "plug in", rather than "unplug"...?!!

OK, a FAR more succinct response this time, my friend!! Yep, to compare this shitty version of "Shadowplay" with The Killers' phenomenal version of it at The Royal Albert Hall some 4 years prior, at times it's as though they're 2 completely different songs that are being played...& we all know that those "times" are the ones that involve Barney in this version, sadly...what a sad, bloated, dorky twat he has become over the past 10-15 years, shortly after he'd screwed over his childhood schoolmate, Peter Hook, with the help of the other original New Order members, Stephen & Gillian... OK, well this is succinct for me tonight, at least...my apologies once again for being so ridiculously loquacious & take care, campionissimo!! Cheers & best wishes from 'Down Under', bud...Matt.

Great show! We were there to see New Order and The Killers, and it was absolutely fantastic! My video of New Order is inaudible or I would post. I'll put the pics of FB...

Immaculate...WTF?!?! Assuming that you're actually aware of the original version of this song (performed by Joy Division) or even just The Killers' (typically excellent, both studio & live versions) cover version of it, did you happen to listen to the song at the 2:55 mark, for just one example of how TRULY WOEFUL Barney was?! So, PLEASE tell me what was even remotely "immaculate" about this? I'm a lifelong JD & NO (not to mention Electronic) fan, at least I was until Hooky departed/was screwed over by Barney, Stephen & Gillian back in 2007 & I've always really liked Brandon Flowers & his band, The Killers, too...well, you did write your comment 10 years ago now & perhaps since then you've heard this song played correctly (studio or live versions, doesn't matter) by either Joy Division or The Killers, as well as possibly had your hearing fixed...I sure hope so, for your sake, my friend...or then again, you're probably exactly the same as you were 10 years ago & could well be a music journalist for the likes of "Rolling Stone" or some other mainstream musical media company that sold what little soul that it ever possessed, some years ago now...?! Well, at least no one else has had the woefully bad sense to upvote your awfully misguided comment over the past decade, eh?!

All that blabbing, only for me to say... Who cares. I'm well aware of all the bands you spoke of. Yes, even electronic. The beauty of live music is that it's often imperfect. And there's more to it than the music, the lighting for example. To each their own, friend-o. Now go waste your time on something else. Christ.

@@Teezus1019 Dude, there's "imperfect" (for which New Order were both famous & strangely wonderful, during the '80s) & then there's plain horrendous...& sadly, Barney was the latter in this performance..."imperfect" would be FAR too kind...sufficinely succinct for you this time?!

Barney - crikey! You were out vocaled major here should have strummed away instead. This proves just how legendary Hooky is cause no one can bass to this song like him. No one.

100% SPOT-ON here, Donny...Barney completely missed his lines from about the 2:55 mark, which was beyond cringeworthy & embarrassing...& I couldn't possibly agree with you more re: Hooky, whom Barney & 'The Other Two' (Spineless Stephen & Gutless Gillian) screwed over completely at New Order, back in 2007...10 years later now, I'm well aware but the truth NEVER has an expiry date, IMO...hope that you're faring well...

You're a disgrace to Ian for saying that
@lavielemond

To whom did you write this comment, may I please enquire?! And my previous reply to you, in response to your incredibly clueless "Immaculate" comment, shows what I think of your judgment of this atrocious version of "Shadowplay", solely because of Barney's having obviously been so trashed & missing his lines, etc (eg at the 2:55 mark), so who the fuck are YOU to say that someone else is a "disgrace to Ian" for having written something with which you do not concur?! You're quite obviously a clueless twat but I sincerely hope that over the past decade or so, you have listened to another (Barney-free) version of 'Shadowplay' performed by either Joy Division or The Killers (IMO, their best live one was at the Royal Albert Hall, in 2009) & realised how it is SUPPOSED to sound, as well as had your ears corrected & grown the fuck up...but you're still über-narcissistic to be telling someone else that they're "a disgrace to Ian" for saying something on here, given your utter cluelessness re: how this song SHOULD sound!!
