Jerry doesn’t get the respect for his guitar skills. Guitar lists used to least put him in the top ten in the 90’s. He’s already forgotten to way too many. His guitar playing is absolutely in the top 5. He’s incredible. He could roll those scales as good as anyone ever. His playing was dripping with style. Man is he missed

I thank myself for every Grateful Dead show I attended. Each time was magic. I stood twenty feet away from Jerry Garcia and saw him smiling at Brent in Pittsburgh in July 87. I was a teenager, didn't have a ticket and bought them at the box office the day of. We all came separately, but when the show started I saw a dozen friends from high school there, over two hundred miles from home; it was a magnificent adventure. Those were magic times and they shaped my life and made me the man I am today. God Bless the music and the souls of the dead.

The big Death Don’t return! Never saw it on video before. Good loud recording. God damn tell me Brent was the secret heart and soul of the band--pure raw emotion and devotion during his verse and solo-then it cuts to Jerry just wailing while biting his bottom lip. That’s how it is with the boys, one little detail like that made my night. Prayers and vibes for buddy Eric who is currently laying in his bed and dying. Needed some dark Dead tonight to fuel my mood
