No, neither does the first secret door. It has to be built slighty different to extend power to everything that doesn't work within the system he built.

lomby i found an easier way for the boat, first get a lever which attaches to redstone dust and repeaters that connects to a dispenser that summons an oak boat (not to be confused with boat) and click the lever (also make sure the repeaters are set to 4 ticks) and boom you have a boat

Your did one thing wrong in the hidden door that the redstone only supply energy to the upper pistons and the bottom sticky Pistons are not working

yes. it works because there is a hidden pufferfish, and when you get close to it, it inflates. that triggers some redstone, which opens the door.
