I'm not a triathlete or a swim/run competitor. Where I can I like to swim one direction and bring shorts, shoes and a t-shirt with me so wherever I land I can get back to my main bag faster than walking. Never more than a couple of miles for reference. I've muddled through a few times with an ordinary tow float dry bag, wearing it like a single strap and it's just a nightmare to jog with and I'm not confident with it bouncing around as no anchor point on the buoy is made for that. I got this lomo float just last week and having only used it once so far, it's paid for itself immediately. The adjustable straps and especially the chest strap just make the world of difference for me. Functionality wise I'm loving this product for a relaxed coastal explore. Thanks!

It's a great float and well priced, much better than some of the other rubbish on the market. I've tried a few over the years. I tried a Swim Secure effort and both straps failed on the very first time and I had to run cradling the pack in my arms for 16 miles over mountains! I also had a Huub which had a leaky valve. The duel chambers on the Lomo are well thought out. Tow strap is fine. However for what I use these pack/floats for (mountain swim/runs) none of the straps on any of these floats are ideal for long distance running. I understand the reasons for the minimal straps etc but the ultimate float for me would be the Lomo float with Huub rucksack/transition pack straps, hydration system or even a flask/bottle holder and a couple of easy access outer pockets. Just sayin.. ;)

Hi thanks for this information its appreciated. Do you remove the shoulder straps when swimming or are they ok to swim with? It looks like the transition would only take a minute anyway. I was thinking I could buy the bag and add some sponge so the straps wouldnt cut into my skin on longer runs. Maybe even add a netted pocket so it can hold a hydration pack. Does the waste strap effect you while you run? Also did you find a better bag with the stuff your looking for? Cheers

Looks good but having to clip and unclip the leash and straps at each transition seems like a faff. Are there any issues with leaving the rucksack straps on while swimming and the leach on while running?

Hi Ian, We recommend the safest way of operating to avoid hanging straps etc getting caught in things while you are running or swimming. If you choose to operate differently in order to reduce transition times then you should asses the possible snag/trip risk that the hanging leash/straps may pose and test it to see if you are happy with the result. Hi there, received my float today very excited to try it out this weekend. I noticed that the tow strap is only about 1 foot long when fully extended, is the bag not going to get in the way of my legs when I am swimming? I expected the strap to be a lot longer. Or am I meant to attach the rucksack straps to lengthen it?

Hi There, that's right it floats above your legs/body rather than a big long strap which would float behind you. You dont notice it's there.
