This is an Iso 400 film unlike other XR films that have a wide aray (50-400) I as always overexposed since I hear if you shoot at boxed speed the film will get more contrasty and also the blue will become much more punchy/aparent
Would of Loved to Shoot more with this film stock if I had the opportunity but I realized I wasnt into the grain structure and courseness of the grains of this particular film stock however I am happy to try something new for you guys since the color scheme is completely different in my eyes and for ppl who have already been shooting most of the time with Fujifilm or Kodaks film stock this might be a curveball in a good sense a good sensation to see different colors....
and as you guys have guessed it the Lomochrome series of film stock have these distinctive colors (metropolis, tourquoise, redscale, purple)
which for what you want to achieve make it a viable choice for creatives.
Would love to hear your imputs your view of this film stock if you every shot with it. :D especially the 35mm version.

Thanks Ryo-san, I once stayed in Yasu and took the train into Kyoto (to a conference) daily passing the Asahi brewery. A beer (larger?) you can buy in Sydney! Ian

I think the hazy sky and resultant harsh lighting really amplified the "nostalgic" look to some of the photos. I wonder if a clearer sky, such as the first clear day after a storm would have meant that that effect was less visible.

Thanks for commenting :) although I only shot one roll can't say much about this film stock but similar to Lomochromes other types of film I highly believe that the angle of where the light is coming from will have a direct effect on how blue the sky would look if I'm right lomochrome purple/tourquoise have the most effect when the sun is roughly 45 degree from the side and less parent from direct sunlight. And since I shot during close to lunchtime the blueness wasn't that strong in my opinion. And maybe after the storm the sky would look alot more bluer just my wild guess.

Very curious color tones in this film. Those photos from the Tokyo Tower are awesome! Must be a cool place to visit. Excellent video as always Ryo!

Honesty it is cool location but unfortunately it's bombarded by tourists and I wouldn't recommend to ppl but since the Tokyo Sky Tree gives u that skyscraper look Tokyo Tower since the height isn't too extreme it gives you a clearer view of the surroundings . Also it's only 8$ so not a ripoff at all

@@RM.TokyoPhotographer got it. Though I cannot the escape the fact I am a tourist by visiting the place XD Yeah the price seems more fair than Sky Tree. Which was pricier and I had to wait 1 hour in line. But the view was worth it.

lol 360p is just to low too much video grain IMHO, the film stock has more grain though

I shot 92 on a half frame camera. There was a ton of grain. I don’t mind the grain but the colors just didn’t do it for me. I probably won’t shoot it again. I do want some of that 35mm Phoenix. Do you think you’ll give Phoenix a try?

I don't have high expectation on Lomochrome series 🤣 But seeing Harmans Phoenix 200 and results ppl are getting it's probably gonna be a win for me. Unfortunately they don't sell it yet In Tokyo don't know the actual price hoping it will be cheaper than. 2000yen. (15$) If I do have the opportunity. Harman plz give me a freebie :)

Hi Ryo-san, Informative video as usual (thank you). Friends in Australia are taking about wabi-sabi (侘寂) life. I’m not sure if this is really relevant to (film) photography but I wondered if there are any museums in Tokyo devoted to the wabi-sabi life. Ian
