@codyworthington Not quite correct. The air ambulance service is run by a charity based at the Royal London Hospital. LAS have no responsibility for the helicopter, but fund paramedics to form the response team dispatched in the helicopter during the day and in the car during the night (the paramedics drive the fast response cars). The helicopter is owned/operated by a private firm and sponsored by Virgin who make a contribution to help cover some aircraft running costs, though not all of them.

@mcintyre265 Your wrong actually, its owned by LAS and funded by a charity, also sponsored by Virgin. Its operated by civilian pilots, mostly ex-Army/Navy/RAF.

Cody Worthington no, it’s a separate charity. LAS provide the paramedic to work with doctors provided by Barts NHS Trust. No longer sponsored by virgin either
