This is superb. I worked as a London Bus driver for 25 years and really wish I'd done something like this.

You must be 21 and usually bus companies will train you, but now it's very difficult because there are very few jobs. In Portugal you will have a better life. Working in London is extremely stressful, especially as a bus driver. Good luck!

I used a GoPro camera. Everybody films you every day all day long, including your company. I don't see an issue with you doing the same thing. I have used it for my own protection against the company I worked for and in a couple of instances it was very good I had it. Liverpool Street at rush hour? Hurry up to do the video before you go mad! Good luck!

Nice video. The driving looked perfectly okay to me and well within the speed limit, but above all. It was safe, unlike some of the idiots that worked for Stagecoach where I used to live that could learn a lot from your high standards :). I believe this bus is a Dennis Trident Alexander ALX400? I thought I would ask hence that it looks very much like those in the cab :).

I think it's a enviro400

***** No mate, its a Dennis Trident 9.9m Alexander ALX400 as I found out from a friend that worked for Abellio London until he went back home to Ireland last year and he now drives for Bus Eireann. This was filmed when the Route 3 was still operated by Dennis Trident Alexander ALX400 buses. This one I think could be one of the KV02 or the LG52 reg examples ordered and built to the former Travel London specifications before Abellio took over. The Enviro 400's took over this route around late-2012 when the KV02-regs were withdrawn from service with Abellio.

***** No problem dude. My friend in Ireland loves driving these buses and I enjoy riding them as a passenger. Someday I would like to preserve one of these beasts :). The Enviro 400 cab is a bit different to these mate as there is an extra side window on the drivers side and also the wipers are mounted above the windscreen drooping downwards in a sweep formation. I think the dash panel is smaller too but please don't quote me on that though :).

i did 12 years on the no.3 route for connex / travel london / abellio, and DAMN i miss those old dennis motors! they go uphill and on the flat like champions, fast, smooth and comfortable.... i still do the job but down in croydon now driving new cheap plastic bullshit buses which actually only need 5 years to shake themselves apart [enviro 200, absolute dogshit.]

Dead serious. Too many issue to list, but I assure you it's a dirty business. You can't do right, because if you brake the rules they will tell you that you should have follow the rules, while if you go by the book they will tell you that you must use common sense. You can't win. Have a go with the goal of staying only 6 months and you'll be able to teach busologdy after that. If they threaten you to pay your training, then tell them you will got to the press. It always works, plenty to hide.

You are the last wheel, you count nothing. 98% of bus drivers deeply hate their job. Many of them divorce. I have never seen so many broken families like in bus driving. You will be making between £250 and £500 per week in exchange of your life. You will probably visit a psychiatrist withn 5 years and your character will change in worst. Your job is always on the line and whatever you do is wrong. Spend a day in London and count how many happy bus drivers you see. Not worth it!
