London During the Time of Restoration, HISTORY VIDEOS FOR KIDS, Claritas cycle 3 week 9

Welcome to History Videos for Kids! This week we are learning about London during the time of the restoration. The English reintroduced the monarchy and crowned Charles II King of England. Things became terrible because many people were dying from the Black Death. They did not know what caused this disease, but it came from infected fleas and rats and unsanitary and cramped living conditions. No too long after the plague left, a great fire burned most of London. It is believed to have been started by a baker's piece of coal falling out of the stove and quickly creating a massive fire. What an incredibly sad time it would have been to see all this heartache.
