Great advice and wise words in this brilliant video. I have been lucky to have got a place and hope to remember a few faces in the Audax groups and videos shared. Best of training everyone. Hope you do a few more updates and maybe a training video each month?

Thanks I will try to find time to do more videos on LEL but I’m busy at work and struggling to find time to train for the LEL as I got a place in 2025 as well

Great video and thank you. I have a place (need to pay) though concerned about the food (I've seen pictures and it looks poor, plus 'school dinners' comment earlier sounds awful), plus poor hygiene showers. It seems that justifying paying £489 is hard when it will probably need an Airbnb/hotel and to buy food. Wonder if it might be best to not pay/take the place and just ride the route and not use the controls, instead use Airbnb/hotels and buy food... Thank you again for your video, very insightful

For those watching, regarding food: think 'school dinners' but excellent and more options; and quick - no faffing. This young chap is a spender. During my LEL, I bought a banana (Malton) and a chocolate bar (Alston): that's it: so less than £2. And I gained weight! Endorse microfibre travel towel. On power, do NOT expect to be able to access an electric socket at controls. Riding 2025.

Wow so you are not eating between the check points and you don’t have spent money on drinks along the way only 2£ at all wonder were you energy came from on this 1500km respect.

@@cycling2adventure En route flapjack cubes, cashews, raisins, salted, replenished from drop bags (so at Malton and Edinburgh, say) and meals at every control (two at sleep stops) so over 20 control meals (1500 kcals, say) in 5 days/80 hours cycling. Water at all controls: why need "drinks along the way"? Though did stop at a pub for a pint (£5) early evening D4.

@@JohnRye-u1b so than great 👍 but you’re well trained and are very experienced rider that you can finish in 80 hours respect for that. So you not have spent money along the way but someone paid for the food in the drop bags 💼 😂. All over thanks for you comments hopefully c u on LEL 2025

@@cycling2adventure 80 hours riding; 35 hours stopped = 5 days. Making sure you eat enough and regularly is absolutely vital (as you said/implied in video). Looking forward to your video where you pack all the stuff (clothing, mat +) mentioned onto your bike. Entered.
