Marvin's a likeable and astute guy. I worked in both charity prisoner world and briefly for Probation Service before government wrecked it, and his ability to see that he had to completely turn his back on his previous life, though not necessarily all his friends, is rarer than you might think. He deserves peace and happiness in his remaining life.
