Them were the golden years of 70s and 80s, we loved going to the central London, especially during the Christmas time where the big stores have their beautiful heart warming Christmas Display. It was so nice and peaceful and happier, people were happy, loving. The atmosphere was very uplifting and Enchanting. Now, it's all rotten, miserable. It's been over Twenty Two years since we last went to Marble Arch and Bond Street to my sister who came from America. Even they were surprised and couldn't believe it, when we told them that we haven't been here for over twenty two years,

Yes, agreed... I am 68, born in 1956... Can recall these scenes, as if it was yesterday... Piccadilly Circus was always busy ( Used to call in the Boots the chemist shop every time )... Haven't been into central London since 1999...

London was a great English city back in the 80s and was as safe to walk the streets late at night or early in the morning. I miss the London we once had, when it was our own city, the capital of England. The greatest city in the world.

Exactly. I visited yesterday and had a great time. The Lights at HAYS Galleria and Covent Garden are wonderful, the atmosphere still magic. White English left but I still live there.

I visited London in 1982. I remember riding in the big spacious black Taxis and shopping in Piccadilly Square. I also remember not seeing many Black people I'm sure they were somewhere I just didn't see them. Times have changed with the influx of immigration. It appears that colonization has reached your shores? Chickens coming home to roost per se.

My first time in England was 1979 as a fifteen year old student and I’ve been visiting regularly ever since. I’m so grateful I got to experience this time. History taught me that it was tough on y’all at this time, but damn the place was alive. Now if Weller will pull his head out and get with Foxton and Buckler, we might be able to turn things around 😉

Ken Livingstone done a great job. First he had the balls to stand as an Independent in the first Mayoral elections. That meant he was non partisan. He loved London as shown by his days in the GLC he also brought investment into the East End of London, including the Olympic Games. It started to go South once he left.
