I think we have seen the future record holder in the marathon in this race and his name is Kipchoge. His final kick to the finish was effortless and crossed the finish line with all smiles. Kipsang was a bit more deflated.

George Orozco seriously? awesome race, but to kill the current wr absolutely everything has to work out on a given day.
@minuteman20069 жыл бұрын
axlrosea675 I never said it would be easy and only a a few runners are even capable of maintain such crazy mile splits. But Kipchoge even said it himself that he has found his distance. He is a fairly newcomer to Marathons and with a few more races under his belt I am sure he has all the tools to set a new record.

I don't think the traditional approach is the fully the right way to go. People like Kipsang may not have the track speed to compete with the others. He has a lot more slow twitch muscle fibers so it would not work out for him. However for the track people they can can move up in distance as they get older. Also, I think it's easier to gain stamina and endurance to run longer distances than to gain or increase raw speed to run shorter distances.

Why don't marathon races have a mirror at some point near the end to help the leaders see who's behind, instead of constantly turning, causing them to slow, slightly?

Did anybody tell Tufa that the Marathon is not a 5 or 10 k race. It just seems that her speed toward the end of the Marathon is unnatural to the event. Not even a trace of fatigue, and her legs look as fresh if not fresher than the beginning of the race. I pretty sure Tufa could have broken 220, absolutely sure.

Can someone please explain to me, what's the difference between the 'Elite men' and the rest of the other crowd running? Why are the elite men running alone from the crowd?
@TechReviewsUWant9 жыл бұрын
David Harrison It's basically the real competition. The rest of the crowd are just the people that want to run a marathon, the elite is like the professionals or whatever and they run separately so people can see them better and they're not crowded together at the start
@kevinconnelly67709 жыл бұрын
David Harrison no one else in the crowd can keep up with them, their professionals for a reason

+TechReviewsUWant Channel i have a question. Are these more difficult than Olympics 5k and 10k runs that people like mo farah do? And how come Mo farah doesnt do marathons? Do marathon runners compete in the olympics etc? im a bit confused xD
@jamesmol36349 жыл бұрын
+Ruben Toder Marathons are a whole different race compared to what farrah does. The reason he doesnt do them (usually) is because these runners are faster then him at long distance.
@RubenBJJ969 жыл бұрын
JamesTriesPvPing thats hard tro believe tbh, Mo farah at the end of a 10k sprints towards the end. Its just strange to me how he does do much marathons
