Some pointers re Invisalign - def water only. They will discolour and also trap sugar (ie drinks, alcohol) against your teeth if you drink anything other than water. Also, don't worry too much about the 22 hours. As long as you are wearing them for around 20-22 hours per day - all will be fine. Be prepared to be told that the 3 months could be extended to 6 months (adjustments are usually needed). Remember to take your Invisalign case with you wherever you go - never wrap in a napkin! Good luck!

Invisalign wearer here, mine will have been on for about 16 months total by the time I get them off in April (had them refitted 3 times as my teeth weren't as straight as my dentist wanted) and for the first 30 weeks I took it *super* seriously, only drank water with them and wore them all the bloody time. But by now I basically drink whatever I want with them (just no super coloured drinks like red wine! And def no hot drinks - also Indian food will totally stain your attachments! But after a couple days of brushing they'll be fine again. Don't brush your teeth excessively to remove the stain) and they're fine. I don't drink beer but I've had white wine, various cocktails, light coloured juices etc and all that happens is that sometimes they will be a little bit yellowy by the end of the week - but I mean it's not even noticeable when you're wearing them, I only see it when I compare them to a new set. They're only on for one week each time and you can clean them if they get really stained, but I've yet to even use the couple of cleaner packets they give you. Hope that helps!

Hey Lizzie! I had Invisaligns a few years ago! It was quite a struggle eating and drinking with them at uni and when out and about with friends so I decided to not wear them when I was out and only wear them at home and at nighttime! It worked anyway! The progress was a little slower but this is what worked for me! Good luck with them!

The 3 months time will go by so quickly. At least you’re getting your teeth straightened in a time where Invisalign is available. I had braces in the 90s, for 7 years, from 3rd grade to 10th grade. (And I had glasses basically the whole time as well) (and a uni-brow, followed by a far-too-thin brow, a la drew Barrymore/Gwen stefani days) They were the big metal braces. And for some reason, nobody told us that getting the elastics different colors every time you went to the dentist, sometimes in line for the holidays, was a bad idea. So often times, I had orange and black elastics on my teeth. Or green and red. So, don’t worry. Your Invisalign are completely inconspicuous.

The Invisalign can retain the drink which may contain sugar and then damage your teeth. It's better to take it off when you're at the pub, before you leave, brush your teeth, then put the Invisalign back on

Yay for invisilign! I have them as well and about to get refinement set number 2. As for what you can drink - I have tried and tested. Yes = beer, champagne, white wine, coffee with milk, any light coloured drink. No = red wine! Hope that helps :)

I got it back in high school and I'm almost 36 and it's kept my teeth straight all these years. I love it and I hope you get one too after you're done with your Invisalign.

Invisalign was one of the best things I ever did for my appearance, not that difficult to get used to really, though I actually did keep to the 22 hours a day (no pubs where I lived at the time though). Also: yay for testing basics!

Same here, wore them 22-23 hours a day. I don’t drink alcohol, I used RVS straws for all drinks: soda’s, coffee, tea. Worked great.

Invisalign - My friend takes them off at the restaurant and the bar and then sleeps with them on which seems to compensate, she finished her trays in the time that was initially allotted. hope this helps!

I had Invisalign in my fifties. I was so self conscious, especially around my students. But they all thought it was cool, that their teacher had braces. I worried most about my mid morning and afternoon cuppa… plus enjoying a couple of glasses of wine after dinner. But like a previous commenter, there were days when I had them out for several hours and it made no difference. Plus I became really adept at whipping them out discretely, even in public, popping them into their case in my pocket, and excusing myself after dinner to brush my teeth and pop them back in. I carried a little makeup bag with my toothbrush etc. I had to wear mine for more than a year… which sucked a bit. 😃 You’ll get used to them really quickly.

Ive just had my Invisalign removed, had them for a year and a half. I would remove them when arriving to parties and bars and I would put them back on when getting home. This would only happen like once a week though. But not having them for 22h occasionally wasn’t an issue

hey I have a cool idea for content for you! Wouldn't it be a cool style challenge to revisit some of your really really REALLY old videos, like the hauls, from when your style was much different and younger, and from each draw old video draw one element (like a pair of flowy printed trousers or a silouette or whatever), and incorporate it into an outfit you would happily wear now? like reinterpreting your old self and style? :D I would LOVE that!!

Re: Invisalign - my mam has it and she's able to drink with them, just not red wine (apparently). Same for her having them in for 22 hours. So I think drinking with them is fine - just not drinks that stain?! Also, tip with Noguchi lights in the kitchen - not sure if anyone else has found this but the colour tends to go a bit off maybe with the steam/condensation from cooking, perhaps from them being paper-based. Hope that's helpful!

Loving the kitchen. Were you thinking of changing those lights above the island? Maybe you can just lower them down. They usually have more cable hidden in the accessory which goes on the ceiling. In my humble opinion they are quite lovely. If you still want to change them do browse Delta Light, Molto Luce or Zambelis.

drank everything with my invisilgn and just used a straw. but i do regret drinking coffee because it did stain my teeth under the aligner. but most dentist offer teeth whitening after your done because where the little implant is... you can have discoloration

Ngl I lost weight when I got mine because I felt so awkward taking the Invisalign off infront of people, so I just kept saying no to snacks and drinks lmao. Eventually I learnt to just take them off in the bathroom and then back in after the night out. 4 hours off once a week won’t hurt!!! But it’s better to be aware that it’s not ideal🫶🏽🕺🏾

I kept my Invisalign in if I drank cold, colourless liquids, but took them out for everything else because it felt 'icky' otherwise. If I drank something other than water, I would pop them out and rinse them and my mouth when I went to the loo. I wore them top and bottom for a year and it was worth the faff to be pain free now

My Invisalign dentist said it’s okay to have them for a few hours for a party every once in a while. As long as you are actually wearing them throughout the week for the 22 hours. And no. Only water. Nothing else. They get discolored, sticky and can build bacteria in the trays which causes canaries and the like.

I had Invisalign and drank whatever I wanted with them on, as long as it wasn’t hot. Then I took them out, rinsed my mouth/teeth with water and put them back on. No big deal. I also wouldn’t recommend getting that bar put in afterward. It was such a bitch keeping the back of my teeth clean and unstained with that bar in. Eventually I had it removed and I switched to wearing my last Invisalign set just at night to keep my teeth from shifting. Now I just wear it once a week while I sleep.

I had Invisalign. Don’t drink anything while wearing them. If you want to go to the pub unfortunately you just lose those hours of treatment. Take them off and make sure you brush your teeth before putting them back in.

It's not 22 hrs, it's about 18. My dentist told me that if I didn't have them in for long enough in one week, then I wear the tray for 10 days rather than 7. You can definitely drink a pint with them on. Get some denture tablets, and then drop them in that when you get home. :) You can't notice them, no-one knew I had them in, ever. Unless you kiss someone, obvs.

Could do without the mouth close-ups but you should brush your teeth before putting in trays so unless you can do that down the pub, just take it out and put in when you get back home. As a one off it should be ok. The place looks good.
