My brother was lifted in one of these to Paddington Hospital, unfortunately he didn't make it, but special thanks to the crew for their amazing efforts!!

sorry for you loss, meaning no disrespect but you might want to revisit? There is no helipad at paddington hospital, not saying you're making it up, just maybe revisit and check the facts again.

Although I feel sorry for them HEMS cars and Medic 1 only takes the worst, most lifethreting calls.

I have to disagree. There was a choppy wind. Vehicles had to be cleared. Pedestrians would not obey cordon and lots of temporary barriers due to road works were of concern. I think they did a fine job

Nice work, but seemed a little slow. When the crew chief climbed in they should normally be airborne within a minute, unless something cropped up.

That's got to be the slowest take-off for an air ambulance ever!

When not operating under the Helimed callsign, they have to wait for ATC clearance just like all other aircraft.
@ce99346 жыл бұрын
HEMSJim they always operate under Helimed. When they are on Helimed 27 Alpha, they have priority over all traffic. Returning to base is Helimed 27 Echo - they still have high priority as they need to get back to base to maybe restock drugs and go to another call and Helimed XX Zulu, which is basically like a normal helicopter priority for when they are on test maintenance flights and not emergencies

Hätte nicht gedacht dass in London ein 'gewöhnlicher' Rettungs-Heli soviel Aufsehen verursacht 🤓

It's either cyclist vs. lorry driver, or it's bike vs. lorry. The news has a habit of automatically exonerating drivers by not mentioning them, as if the lorry ran the bike rider over on it own, without human input.

Happened to the virgin chopper? that was london's signature air ambulance! don't like this one
@HEMSJim7 жыл бұрын
Same type of aircraft, just a different livery. Virgin no longer sponsors London's Air Ambulance but they do the same great job as always!
@ce99346 жыл бұрын
This livery is still on the old G-EHMS. Virgin stopped sponsorship in 2012, so they repainted it. The new one G-LNDN is in the same livery. It reflects the charitable side of things now, as it has ‘support London’s Air Ambulance’ and shows more of what they do with ‘Advanced Trauma Team’
