Pedestrians can use the Woolwich ferry for free. Sadly, they don't have a Duty Free shop on board.

In the early 90’s I worked at charlton, and living in east London there was a train that used to run from Homerton to north woolwich, then we walked through the woolwich tunnel to the south side. Then had the same journey home. Bad times ol

I enjoyed walking through the Rotherhithe tunnel. It is very smoky but you've got to do it at least once.
